We head down to Argos to check out if the mystery bundle of golf balls that are relatively cheap, actually a waste of money or good value!?

  1. See my issue is I can get 20 pro V1s for £25 on Facebook market place that are all mint condition hardly ever been used, at worse, have a line or logo on them

  2. Before people go and order dozens of Ineseis 100 distance golf balls, they are not what they used to be. I bought a dozen in 2020 and they were fine for winter golf and very good value.
I bought another dozen at the end of last year and in my view they are unplayable. For a start they sound and feel so hard I had to check my lovely Mizuno iron for damage. I checked the C.G. of 3 of them using a tub of salt water, and they failed miserably. I'm not impressed by the fact they are made from recycled materials and they are comfortably the worst ball I have ever tried.

  3. If they are somewhat round, almost the original color, look pleasing to the eye and relatively inexpensive, I try not to think about it too much, just hit it and have fun.
Now, I wouldn't buy a 'mystery,' but I have had pretty good success finding good values on reloads. Scored ProV1 at Walmart for less than $6/dz and I'd guess 75% of them you could not tell them from new, though obviously different production years.
Recently scored closeout TP5, Titlest Tour Soft reloads for $4/15pk and brand new 2pc Wilson Tour Velocity $3/15pk. For 20c a ball I can treat my playing partners and random strangers.
    Look for mark-downs!!

  4. I saw a great thing over easter. A pro shop had set up little sets of used balls for people to buy to try out. No two the same and grouped by "alternative to ProV1", "best for the wallet", "colourful", "distance", "for better around the green", "senior focus". It was like 10euro for about 10 a set. I went anf bought the colour set as I really dodnt know about them.

  5. Wow, the ones I bought years ago weren't that dodgy, only good for real beginners, or societies when a crap ball game is played 👍

  6. For me and my handicap (19ish) I'd always buy Srizon A333, seen lots of auctions for 15 to 24 balls, pearl and A grade for under £15 🙂

  7. I’m playing the Kirkland V2. Love them. I’m a 2 hcp. Used to play pro v1 only……then I had kids :). Compromise right. But I love the performance.

  8. I have bucket loads of balls that I find! So many that now I am a snob lol leave those that I don’t like on fairways for others.

  9. I love the Srixon balls but for whatever reason I do not ever lose the wilson balls Lol I can play a Wilson ball for 9 to 18 holes and I thought it was a blip but it keeps happening round after round , I retire Wilson balls and lose Srixon Q and Z Stars.

I also like the Callaway Hex balls , Warbirds and pretty solid with Nike balls as well.

  10. I play with the inesis 100 distance balls. I’ve found some premium balls and when I hit them I don’t actually like the feel of them in comparison

  11. Vice and Snell also make quality golf balls at less than premium price.

  12. I have been using Vice pro exclusively for some time. Snell was also the ball of choice for a while. Direct to consumer premium balls are a no brainer. For those who have not used snell or Vice, do yourself a HUGE favor and try em. You won’t look back.

  13. I get a better assortment at my local range. Better off grabbing a few good ones each range session to fill up the bag.

  14. I was clearing out the garage and gave 3 carrier bags of balls ( in better nick than those) away to the charity shop. What a mug I am🙄.

  15. Great vid Si. I bought Kirklands recently and got a PB 84 round this weekend with it. The biggest confidence stroke I had with them was the green approach (compared with my random second hand balls )👍 Then again, I was comfortably able to AOB them from the tee on occasion.
