Preparing for a Wakeboard Competition – The Masters

Here’s a little look behind the scenes of how I got ready to compete in the 61st Masters Waterski and Wakeboard tournament that took place this past weekend at Callaway Gardens in Georgia!

This is a video of two wakeboard sets I took to get ready leading up to going to the event. Guenther Oka brought his GoPro out and we just left it recording for the whole session while we were on the boat. So, this is uncut, the whole session (just sped the video up through falls and stuff) of two sets riding the week leading up to Masters.

After taking two weeks off of riding it was nice to get back on the water and get back into it!

At the end of this video is my contest pass from the competition. I stood up my run but was a little bit sketchy on some tricks, leaving me third in my heat, missing out on the four-man final by one spot. All in all, though, I’m stoked with how the event went and am really happy to come away tied for 5th place!

Thanks Tim McGee for the thumbnail photo from leaving the dock at The Masters!
