John Hughes Golf -Swing to the Right to Fix Your Slice

You slice your tee shots and can’t figure out how to fix it. Did you ever consider you’re swinging the club in the wrong direction?

For the right handed golfer, swinging to the “right” and hitting the inside of the golf balls is what it takes to fix the left to right slice. Counter-intuitive you say? Well, golf is a counter-intuitive game and you have to work backwards from your ball slight to understand that the club is open as the path the club is taking is move from the outside to the inside of you. In other words, your swinging “over the top.” You really don’t want to see what over the top really is. But you can learn to swing in a different direction while leaving the club face slightly open and achieve a straighter ball slight that stays on target.

Within this video, John Hughes, PGA Master Professional of Instruction shows you a very simple drill to overcome your slice. Repeating the drill slowly, not trying to hit your driver for distance, will assist you with ingraining a swing that comes more from the “inside” and moves to the “outside of you. Combine that with hitting the “inside” of the golf ball, and you have a great recipe to hit straighter drives all the time.
