This is a video of me interviewing Peter Burchard, current USFA president. This was part two of six of a follow up interview I did with Peter recently. Questions from the interview were asked on Reddit and chosen by me. This section is a combination of two questions: the first by Allen Evans was “US Fencing (as an organization) has long talked about “growing the sport”, but often that effort seems to be focused on offering more, National level opportunities to compete. I would argue that this is a poorly focused effort to grow fencing participation in the US. Does US Fencing have any other ideas in terms of building up local fencing participation? How does US Fencing see it’s relationship with local clubs/Divisions in building up local fencing?” The second was by FerrumVeritas who asked “What plans does US Fencing have to help rebuild the decimated (or obliterated) local fencing programs following the dramatic decrease in existing clubs?” Since the answers to these questions had significant overlap I only ended up asking the first question, though both were answered in this video.
