The driving range is great place to meet, especially if you can’t afford high green fee rates at a regular course
It is also the place where you get work on specific areas of your golf skills: putting, driving the ball down the fairway and practicing your chip and pitch shots
Inner city areas in the hood do not have luxury of having these type of public facilities where minority golfers are limited to vast yardage areas behind public school grounds(restricted, no trespassing) and city or county park recreation areas.
I really believe that great golf players can come from inner city areas. Those who are talented just need access to land space and the opportunity to learn and play the game. PGA kid- funded golf programs are not found in the hood.
I say this to remind the general public and my loyal subscribers that golf is a billion dollar sports industry and that minorities under-represented in all phases of its job market. Players must be qualified to play on the professional tour. The class, security dress attire, ambiance of golf facilities and the conduct for the rules of play excludes the undesirables
