How To Add Distance Without Swinging Faster

Gene Parente here with an important lesson on angle of attack and how a small adjustment in our ball position can lead to longer AND straighter drives.

So what is angle of attack?

Well, we don’t hit a golf ball on a level or linear plane. The angle of our swing path goes from negative on the downswing, to neutral to positive on the upswing. Our research shows professional golfers always have a positive angle of attack with the driver and hit up on the ball.

Conversely, data for most amateurs reflect a negative angle of attack, which is typically caused by an outside to in swing path and coming down on the ball.

So how do we change our angle of attack? Good news, it’s simple! Just move the ball forward in your stance. Start with one inch forward and experiment up to two inches forward. The results should be a straighter, higher and longer ball flight.

Who doesn’t want that!
