Don't Keep Your Head Down – Stan Utley

Each player is different, so it’s important to adapt a teaching strategy to fit each individual’s game. However, I believe there are two absolutes. Absolute No. 1 is you should not look at the ball and Absolute No. 2 is you should never keep your head down.

Most amateurs think when they top or blade a shot, they’re not “keeping their head down.” In reality, they’re bending over and topping it, not raising up and topping it. As a result, I want you to always finish out of hip-bend, raising up tall onto your lead foot.
