What Size of Golf Grip and What Type of Golf Grip Should I Use?

– G’day guys, Brenden here at HGPI [High Performance Golf Institute] talking about grips today.

Now we’ve seen plenty of people who come in and they’ve got grips that kind of look a little bit like this. They’re a little bit worn out.

Now we’re actually coming into the golf season; one of the things you can do is replace your grips. It’s really the only place you actually touch the club. It’s really important to get one the right texture of grip to the right size of grip. Not many people know you can get very different sizes of grips. So we have a pretty big selection here, but we’ll go with some of the different ones we have. Here’s some of the ones we have what we call a cord grip. So these ones here actually have a cloth cord woven into the grip. So people would get sweaty hands, people who play in humid climates sometimes like these ones.

We then have another grip, which you’ll see is very, very popular. It’s actually called the Dual Durometer grip. So it has still has that cord in the top left hand, but as a softer rubber in the lower hand.

Now these grip we have has what’s called the align grip. So you’ll have this one here. You can see it actually has a raised ridge going across the back of the grip. What’s that’s designed to do is where you actually pick up the grip you’ll see it’ll actually fit into one of your knuckles. What that gives the player, the ability to do is to grip the club in the same position each time. That’s a feel that some people like and some people want to have.

Not only that, we then can go to what we call the Plus4 grip. That actually has a lower bottom hand. We have a lot of people now here may have arthritis — they want to get something that’s a little easier to hold on to. So this grip here is designed with less taper, and is a little bit easier to hold on to.

We can even go to the very original, the leather grip. These things here feel quite good. Always stay quite tacky. We have those available. Then we also have all the way going to the Bryson DeChambeau, the jumbo size grip. So with someone, you can see it comparing this to a normal grip — you can see quite a large difference, but why one of those ones, if you like the feel of it, it might be the wrong grip for you. If you haven’t had any calls, regroup recently, give us a call out of here at H PGI.
