How to play the high, soft pitch shot (350)

Cassie’s short game has come along way in the past year, technique + practice + course time = lower scores.

However one of the keys to being a really good short game player inside 75 yards is to be able to play different shots when needed.

Today we are going to work on the high soft pitch as it is a necessary one to be able to paly even if not the one that is your bread and butter.

It takes a certain amount of technique and confidence to get right.

We have worked on letting gravity control the swing in recent videos and this shot requires the same technique – full pivot, longish backswing (even though not long shot) and letting the clubs head drop smoothly with gravity and then rotating the body along for the ride to a nice high finish.

Of course the starting position of the hands is more middle than pressed forward and then the club is less compressed through contact but the key s smooth tempo of body and gravity dropping the club head tot he ball not trying to hit at the ball.

Have a go at the range and maybe on the course too
