John Hughes Golf – Flip the Impact Bag Drill

Learning a great impact position is more than understanding how to compress an Impact Bag. It’s about understanding what the Impact Bag should do when you strike it.

The “Flip the Impact Drill” provides you the correct feedback of impact when you’re using an Impact or “Smash” bag to improve your impact position. When you strike an Impact Bag when practicing or doing a drill, it should not spin in either direction. It should “flip” over itself if your golf club is square to your target when initiating contact with the bag. If the bag spins “Clockwise,” it’s an indication your swing path is working outside to in as it approaches the golf ball. If the bag spins “Counter Clockwise,” it’s an indication that maybe your swing path is too much from the inside.

Watching this video will assist you with setting up the drill correctly as well as provide a demonstration to what great impact should look like when using an Impact Bag.
