Absolutely brutal Golf shot
In this episode of Cobe Life on the course we take a closer look at one of the most difficult things a Beginner or Pro has to deal with on the course. Rarely does anyone who plays golf get through a Round without dealing with an Awkward Lie. I have hit Fairways and found myself in difficult situations. Maybe the ball was significantly below my feet on a downhill slope. As a Beginner I hate that shot. I have drilled low stingers off the Tee that plugged into uphill lies in the Faiway. Of course miss the Fairway, and things can get really interesting.
In this video I am just a little left of the Fairway but find myself with a brutal lie that to the untrained eye looks innocent enough. I have had lies in deep rough that were far easier than this. It isn’t so much the position of the ball as it is my position in relation to it. Sure the ball is in a bad spot. It’s in the rough, up against a bump in the ground. That I can deal with. It’s the uneven stance I’m forced to take that really increases the difficulty of this shot. My back foot is tilted away from target, and lower than my front foot. The ball is slightly above the level of my Feet. It feels like a full swing will pull me off balance away from the target. I am forced to keep my body even with the slope while maintaining more weight on my front foot to prevent me from falling backward.
