Q.
The player’s ball is ever so slightly outside of the bunker, and fully situated in the general area. The ball is embedded, so what are the player’s options?
.
A.
The player can either play it as it lies, or usually they can take free relief for embedded ball. BUT to take free relief for an embedded ball, there must be some part of the relief area within the general area. In this case, there is no part of the relief area within the general area, and therefore the player is unable to proceed with a free relief drop for an embedded ball.
