There is no doubt I’m a range rat. I try to practice as often as I play. It doesn’t work out that way sometimes but I try.
I see people on the range who are trying to ‘find it’ but mostly it’s people just competing with themselves with the driver to pound it as long as they can. They may be getting some exercise but they aren’t learning anything. Even worse is they ruin what’s left of their swing in the process.
Practice is essential for better golf but you need to practice after instruction from a Golf Professional on the things you have been taught. Unless you are Ben Hogan it’s extremely unlikely you will ‘find it’ yourself.
I share some thoughts on how to practice once you have had a lesson. I prefer to hit my own Pro V1 practice balls off grass but it’s winter and I can only do what daylight will afford me to do.
