Q.
How many strokes has this player made?
.
.
.
A.
The player has made four strokes, although the last stroke would be considered a scrape, and they would have made six strokes in total in stroke play. Loss of hole in match play.
.
HOWEVER, the player has made a stroke at their ball outside of their teeing area to start the hole, and therefore in stroke play they would incur a general penalty and be required to correct their error.
