This video shows you how to place a bet on a greyhound race using a live example.

As mentioned in the video, here is the complete lists of grades for greyhound races in the UK:

A1 – A12 are the standard grades with A1 being the best class where the fastest dogs race and A12 being the lowest class.

T indicates a trials race where a number might be used to show how many dogs took part. E.g. T3 would be a trial with 3 dogs running.

OR is an open race which are the most prestigious races of the greyhound calendar. They will generally contain the fastest dogs in the country.

HCP (or HP) means the race is a handicap race where certain dogs are given slight advantages in terms of their starting positions to even out the race.

H indicates a hurdles race although these are less common than flat races.

S1 – S6 is a race where the dogs run around 6 corners of the track instead of the usual 4. The numbers once again indicate how good the dogs are with 1 being the best and 6 being the worst.

D – these are dashes or sprints which are shorter distance races that are over very quickly.
