Cala Homes development at Dunbar Golf Club launched

Seventy-eight four and five-bedroom homes will be built over two phases at the course, which has been used as a qualifying venue for The Open Championship.

Longbanks Green is being developed by Cala Homes (East) and the first phase of the highly anticipated homes is now available for sale from Cala’s Craighall Village development in Millerhill.

Elaine Doyle, sales and marketing director at Cala Homes (East), said: “Longbanks Green is a stunning addition to our portfolio in East Lothian.

“Dunbar’s combination of beautiful scenery, active lifestyle opportunities and excellent connectivity to Edinburgh makes it a highly desirable location.

“We expect strong interest in this development and recommend early registration.”

The new homes will benefit from high specification throughout and premium elements, including “designer kitchens with integrated appliances, as well as sleek family bathrooms and excellent storage spaces”.

All homes are also designed with contemporary Bifold doors that open onto private rear gardens.

Permission was given in August last year for the homes, as well as allowing the golf club to create a new clubhouse, golf academy and driving range.

The plans came under fire when they went before East Lothian Council’s planning committee, where both Dunbar and West Barns Community Councils objected.

Jacquie Bell, representing West Barns Community Council, said at the time: “East Lothian Council has declared a climate emergency.

“I am asking members to protect this green space for future generations and make sure it is available to the whole community, not just those who buy the houses or members of the private golf club.”

Prices for four-bedroom homes at Longbanks Green start from £549,995.
