We reckon that everyone deserves a treat every so often – and that retail therapy often has to come from yourself. Now that the height of the golf season is a distant memory, are there any equipment upgrades that you find yourself requiring? Perhaps you have spent months longingly looking at new clubs that a friend has bought and you wouldn’t mind getting a taste of that for yourself.
Reflecting on the past year of new equipment and some of the standouts that have been tested and reviewed by our Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall, we have picked out a series of drivers, woods, irons, wedges and putters that might just give you a well-earned treat.
Have a look below to see if something catches your eye as it presents an opportunity to upgrade your golf bag well before the beginning of the 2025 golf season!
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Drivers
Showcasing the most sophisticated face in Callaway’s long history, the Paradym Ai Smoke Drivers made quite an impression when they were released at the beginning of the year. Ryan Rastall took a closer look at them, testing each of the models and describing which types of golfer they are best suited for.
Discover which of the drivers is most ideal for you, and why not purchase one to give yourself a boost off the tee?!
Cobra DARKSPEED Drivers
Earlier this year, Ryan was caught by surprise at just how long Cobra’s new drivers were, and if you require that extra touch of distance off the tee, then you might consider a worthwhile investment to identify the model that would best mesh with your game and deliver on that promised performance.
TaylorMade Qi10 Drivers
Ryan was also impressed by TaylorMade’s Qi10 family, which have been engineered to be the brand’s most forgiving drivers yet. It certainly has made a difference to the game of Golfshake writer Derek Clements. If you require a touch of extra help off the tee or just love the look and feel of a TaylorMade driver, then these are for you!
PING G430 MAX 10K Driver
Is PING’s latest, stunningly forgiving driver, the very best on the market? It’s definitely in the conversation, as Ryan was suitably impressed when he reviewed it for us at the beginning of the year.
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Fairway Woods
Much like their sibling drivers, the latest Callaway fairway woods have options that will suit every golfer, which is something that Ryan explored in his comprehensive review that was put together earlier in the year. Each wood benefits from the Ai Smart Face that has taken data from thousands of real golfers to engineer a design that offers a range of sweet spots across the face.
Cobra DARKSPEED Hybrid
You may have seen how much Ryan loved the drivers, but what about the new Cobra DARKSPEED hybrid? It features PWR-BRIDGE weighting and PWRSHELL H.O.T. FACE Technology for added speed, launch and forgiveness, making it a superb option to consider purchasing.
Mizuno JPX925 Irons
It’s often said that there is nothing else quite like a Mizuno iron, meaning that admirers of the manufacturer will be excited about getting their hands on the new JPX925. Ryan Rastall was certainly among them, reviewing the latest releases for us, where he describes which of the irons will best suit your game.
TaylorMade P770 Irons
Golfers who love to have that sense of feel and workability with their irons should embrace the new P770, which Ryan has reviewed for us in detail and also compared them to the previous model. If you’re thinking it’s time to upgrade your irons, these might just be for you.
Callaway Opus Platinum Wedges
Callaway’s wedges are considered to be among the best in the industry, and the new Opus models have been created to deliver the touch and control that golfers expect with their scoring clubs. Golfshake’s Ryan Rastall was certainly keen on them, and you will be too if you put them in your bag!
Titleist Vokey SM10 Wedges
Are Titleist’s Vokey Wedges the gold standard in golf? They arguably could be, and the SM10 builds on that reputation with an exciting offering for golfers who desire that ultimate feel around the greens. Ryan was impressed when he reviewed them for us, and fans of the brand should relish them too.
Cleveland RTX6 ZipCore Tour Rack Wedges
Renowned for their wedges, Cleveland’s new RTX6 ZipCore Tour Rack is another gem to join the collection as Ryan was a fan when he tested them for us earlier in the season. If you want to find that edge close to the greens, these could be the answer.
Odyssey Ai-One Putters
It doesn’t get much better – with regards to innovation and performance – than an Odyssey putter. They stand alongside the finest on the market and they get better all the time. Ryan tested both the Ai-One Jailbird Mini and Ai-One Jailbird Cruiser. The latter was in the bag of Wyndham Clark when he shot a historic round of 60 at Pebble Beach in February.
