The definition of “all the gear and no idea”

I started playing golf only a few months ago using some hand-me-down gear. I instantly got the bug and have been to the range or done 18 holes at least 2 or 3 times a week since. I treated myself on Sunday to a new set of gear, including sim2 max clubs, a bag, and a kart. I wanted a 60° wedge as well as a new putter but decided against it because they weren't super necessary and I was already spending too much on the rest.

Anyway, I just won a raffle for some a set of titlest x3 vokey sm10 wedges and a Scott Cameron phantom 5.5 joker putter.

I can't believe it!

    You should get the following:

    Jet black sm10

Golf pride mcc red midsize, 3 extra wraps of tape on the bottom

    50.08 F grind

    54.14 F grind

    58.14 K grind

    All 1° flat, +.25” length

I’ll give you a mailing address in dm

Man, what’s it like to win something? I’ve never been lucky when it comes to draws/contests.

    Congrats though.

  3. Congrats! Titleist website has an online wedge fitter that should get you close enough as a newer player. You could probably pay a local shop to do a fitting as well even if you don’t buy through them.

Take the putter, IF you like mallet putters.  A lot of people here clown on Scotty’s (some of it is justified), but you’ll never need a new putter again. You’ll end up needing new wedges at some point regardless.  There’s a bit of “he’s new and gaming a Scotty? Can’t buy game” but fuck it. Who cares.

Edit: just realized you won both!  Congrats and respectfully, fuck you lol.  Def get the jet black finishes on the wedges.  They’re great

  5. BOOK it to your local pro and get some idea of a fitting, especially for the putter. Getting lie angle and length correct will do 90% of the work for you in the putting stroke. Last thing you want is to get free premium gear and suck with it

  6. Here’s my take as a scratch golfer that has used every Titleist wedge grind and combination

Whatever your PW loft is, go 4 degrees more. For example 46 PW, go 50 degrees. 44 degrees, go 48.

Next get the grind of your 60 degree correct, do you hit a lot of fat shots? Trouble in the sand? Go with the K grind. If you find yourself short sided, go with the T grind. Are you looking for a general purpose LW and not going to try anything dumb? Go with the S grind.

From there, pick the highest lofted sand wedge that fills the gap. 54 or 56. Do you play all stock shots? Go with the F grind. Do you manipulate the face open and closed? Go with the D grind. Do you manipulate the club forward and backward in your stance, go with the S grind.

Lastly, see if you can get a shaft change. The S200 that is stock is rather light. See if you can get the S400. The few extra grams helps stabilize the shaft through rough and gives you more feel on touch shots.

That text looks like something that would include a non secure link that wants you to enter CC details.

Fuming! I put in for that one! Congratulations and fuck you.

Definitely go with the raw or black finish to minimize glare off the face. 52° F, 56° D, 60° D for me.

No disrespect, but this sounds scammy as hell. “Kindly” is always a huge red flag, because that’s what the Indian and Chinese scammers always use. Also, “we will send tracking once we send” isn’t even a complete sentence; it’s just broken English.

If it’s legit and you’ve already done your due diligence, congrats, but good luck otherwise.

This looks so fake. I look forward to seeing it come true and eating crow

Are you sure you won something?

There are no 2024 phantom x putters. That was a 2023 line.

Congrats! I need to stop myself from going mental and entering everything on there.
