GOLFZON, one of South Korea’s leaders in golf simulators, announced the launch of its new urban golf course model, City Golf, with a flagship location at the Maigang Convention Center in Tianjin, China.
City Golf is a hybrid golf model that combines real greens with screens and the goal is provide city dwellers with a premium golf experience. The course has 18 holes across the 106,000-square-foot indoor space, with each hole featuring one screen and one specially designed synthetic green, which allows players to experience the feel of various golf courses. Players use the screen golf portion to tee off and approach the green. Once they have arrived at the green, the screen retracts to allow them to finish the hole by sinking an actual putt. The combination of screen golf’s advantages with real greens furthers GOLFZON’s commitment to preserving nature.
“City Golf is the most ideal urban golf course, applying GOLFZON’s world-class golf simulator technology and golf course management expertise,” says Kim Young-Chan, chairman of GOLFZON Newdin Group. “We expect it to become the world’s leading golf platform, offering a new and unique golf experience akin to playing a round on a real course right in the middle of the city, starting with China and expanding globally.”
City Golf venues will include additional amenities such as golf equipment stores upon entering the facility and a dining experience following the round of golf. Aside from GOLFZON’s renowned simulator technology, the venues will also showcase high-quality products throughout and are intended to serve as a one-stop golf entertainment arena offering golf, fitness, and dining to attract a diverse consumer base centered around golf.
