The father son rule, goes around and comes around. It's unfair on the club's that don't have it at the time, but generally every club has an opportunity for it at some stage.
as he was quite Slick with his Handballs especially kicking he was such a skinny Slick mover
Our most recent father/son was actually Ben Silvagni
Terry you say like itโs written Camporeale!!!
Campo was a gun! His kids are going to kick ass!
Jack Silvagni and 1 or both of the Camporeale twins winning the 2025 Premiership 30 years after their fathers success in 1995. Itโs written in the stars.
Good luck lads, your old man was freaking awesome,…. But you know that…๐ฌ
Hopefully theyโve inherited the old manโs kicking skills,Scott was a gun,was unlucky not to get the rising star award, was gutted when he went to Essendon
Scott moved like a gazelle
Be surprised to see them at afl level in first year but hopefully they can both develop into solid 200 game footy players…..
I can confirm that โCamporealeโ is pronounced โCamporellyโ not โCamporiarllyโ. The Camporealeโs are my cousins and I can 100% tell you all that is the truth. Scott is the reason I love The Blues and have since I was an 8 year old in 1995. Up the baggers!!!
You love to see it, sad to see those depart but the future looks bright with fresh young talent. Hope they play as many games as their dad.
Itโs pronounced Kouta-Fida-Medes. Mmmkay? Mmmkay.
What possible justification is there in a national competition for the father son rule? It's a total anachronism and a throwback to the VFL. Why do some players get to nominate their preferred team because their father played for that team? And how does that help GWS or the Suns or the Tassie team? If you want to argue that the rule is a recognition of team history, coninuity and loyalty, explain to me how the Pies treatment of the Cloke brothers demonstrates any good thing about loyalty, continuity and history. Teams want the father son selection until he proves he's not the star his dad was, then he's no longer a "family member".
Pronounced โCampo-rellyโ as I just watched a video where they said their names themselves. ๐
Go the mighty baggers
Scott was a classy fast skillful player. He was largely an outside midfielder and wingman . Very clean hands with elite kicking skills .
So now Ben & Lucas nominated the blues does that mean we draft Sid Draper considering he was the one who fed the campo twins allot and they all worked so well together in the SA team
Good eyes from Ben and able to make plays under a bit of pressure. We definitely need ability to see targets and what the play is in front of them. Don't know how he'll stand up to pressure from AFL men.
Great point you make about draftees are now coming into a ready made finals team
The time is now for the Club, top to bottom, the time is right here right now
There is absolutely 0 reasons why our number 3 draft pick canโt come in and make a impact straight away
Thereโs absolutely 0 reasons why one of the twins canโt come in and do the same considering theyโve been training with the Club for a few yr
Thereโs absolutely 0 reasons we canโt have an Ashcroft or a Daicos come in and do their thing straight off the bat
Thereโs 0 reasons why more experienced players canโt take a leap forward by their own standards. And that includes someone like Charlie.
What picks do we have to use on the boys?
It is pronounced with the Re-ahly. My cousins have that surname
Love the father son stuff, love the hisory it brings, Go Blues Go Tez
I can confirm that Scott played a great game in '95 GF, as a new player…
The father/son should stay, it's a bond from father-club-son-club.
In Carlton we have a unique situation with the original and brilliant talent and personalities of the Silvagni family.
SOS1(Serge) – SOS 2(Steve) –
SOS 3 (Jack) –
SOS 4(?)….
and in between each Father-Son – Club
there is the Club which has a really lovely family atmosphere and bond.วฐ
It would be a proper since and apologe to the way Steven was treated, forced out and told to resign from the club he has always loved.
Steven played his games, then served as a terrific list manager. It was under his guidership of getting players ie as Crisps, and his mates.
I think letting go of Owies, Saad, they have been in corporate and family members of Carlton
It's an odd one because I'm told it's "Camporelly" but I met someone from Italy with the same name overseas and he said he pronounces his surname "Cam-por-ree-are-lay".
Scotts game on Peter Matera at the Waca was legendary
Sorry but in italian It's pronounced phonetically .
Lol
