On Monday’s edition of Felger & Mazz, the guys reacted to Drake Maye’s first start in the NFL in the Patriots 41-21 loss to the Houston Texans. This led Felger to make the point that the change to the rookie quarterback did not get the Patriots any closer to winning games.

There was a play in the second half where Maye ran down the sideline, and the Texans tried to Ole him out of bounds. Instead of getting the hint, he tried to get more yards. If defenses see that on film, they won't let up as kind of a gentlemens rule.
5 of the texans defensive starters were out in the second half. Neville Hewitt and Hansen were at Linebacker. 😂😂 they are special team guys. Eric Murray and a guy they called up from practice squad played thensecond half. Azeez left in the 3rd also.
The argument that Felger is attempting to make about possibly not being better with Maye is ridiculous. The team is 1-5. Currently in the running for the first overall pick. But being marginally closer to the Texans for a more competitive game is important? No team with the caliber of roster the Pats have is worried about being marginally better. We suck! Also lost 4 of their best players on defense. The ONE strength this team may have had coming into the season.

Stew with the "I have a good QB on a bad team and that's entertaining" is the most honest thing anyone has said about Maye. And that's really the crux of it — that's not entertaining to me.
I am entertained and I am engaged with the team when they are competing in games. That doesn't mean I get upset when they lose (looking at you guys here) last week on a heartbreaking end of the game sequence. That was actually exciting and entertaining down to the wire.
Christ guys, I have a medical diagnosis for ADHD and I'm sitting here judging you all for the lack of attention you can give to the game just because they aren't throwing TDs every drive. That's football! We gotta realize how UNIQUE the era of Brady was and how it INCREASED the rate of scoring around the league as we were LUCKY to have SEVERAL HoF level QBs playing at once.
