hey guys this video is going to be all about how to hit a Hybrid and people have a lot of trouble with hybrids as they get used to them but once you get comfortable with them they really are a lifesaver so what happens with the hybrid what makes them easier to hit is they’re able to put the manufacturers are able to put the weight lower and further behind so it’s going to increase the moment of inertia it’s going to make these longer shots easier to hit but you got to be able to do it the right way or you got to be approaching it the right way to be able to get that good ball flight and to be able to make the CL work for you so you don’t have to work for the club so you want to swing it kind of like an iron but kind of like a wood what does that mean exactly well your setup’s a little bit different so with the hybrid you want to be playing it forward in your stance not so far forward like it’s a driver but you don’t want to play it back like it’s a wedge either so what I want you to do is approach the ball take a small step so you’re getting the ball just kind of right behind your forward heel and then your feet are going to be shoulder width apart you’re going to be leaning away just a little bit but I want you to rotate it back with your upper body now there are differences in irons and woods because the further you are away from the club with the wood the flatter the plane’s going to be and then the closer you are like say with the sand wedge it’s going to be a little more upright so when you’re taking the club back you still want to be turning back and rotate it back in front of your chest go up to the top of the swing and then you’re going to rotate through your head stays behind and it’s going to be kind of a sweep movement if you approaching it like you would a sand wge and you get too steep it’s going to be tough to get that more shallow angle of attack you’re going to hit down into it more that’s going to make you chunk it it’s going to create too much backspin on the ball so as you can see here The Sand Wedge setup is way more vertical than the hybrid setup and if you try to swing when people say hey just swing it like an iron well if you’re not swinging it like a long iron you’re going to get far too Steep and you’re going to get into the ball the wrong way the low point of your swing is going to be in the wrong position and that’s going to create more side Spin and it’s going to make the hybrid a sense of frustration instead of making it easier on your golf game again it’s set up get it just behind your forward foot lean away a little bit and then you’re going to rotate keep it in front and then rotate back through your head stays behind the ball and you’re going to get that good contact you’re going to get a flatter plane coming in and you’re going to get a lot more good shots so it’s going to look like this hope that educate your game I’ll talk to you soon

  1. I struggle with the hybrids because I tend to flip them closed at impact causing a hook. I carry a 7 wood instead of a 4 hybrid for that reason.

  2. I also figured out with my stronger grip I had to feel more cupped with my lead hand and all of a sudden I was flushing my 4 hybrid😊
