Should’ve been 3 sacks. The no call on intentional grounding was awful. The Saints lost, but the KC refs were as bad as usual last night
I've been a Saints fan to the BONE GRISLE since I can remember, and I'm 49 yrs old, BUT…..If Dennis Allen starts Jake Haener over Spencer Rattler(who clearly won the back-up battle) I am DONE with the Saints until Dennis Allen is gone. He's been our HC since 2022, and we have had losing seasons since he's been at the helm!!

Even though I strongly disagreed with the Spencer over Haener sentiment following preseason, I actually agree now. I think the Saints really hired a great offensive coordinator. I think he would be able to utilize the unique tools Rattler brings the table, and it would open up the Saints offense to be more dynamic. Without Kubiak’s great playcalling, I’d go with Haener every time. With that said, I worry the porous O-line will be too much for any rookie to handle. In other words I think Haener likely would he able to handle breakdowns in protection better.
Kubiak was a brilliant hire. I think most fans, like always, are probably looking at the surface of the last three weeks and doubting his abilities. I think they are shortsighted though. His playcalling has been a breath of fresh air. His commitment to the run game is something very few coaches are capable of maintaining. Even Sean Payton struggled to commit and stick with what was working. The reason that commitment is so important is that it foreshadows Kubiak likelihood of being able to keep doing the same thing until the other team stops it once he figures out a weakness to exploit. It’s similar to how the vast majority of coaches no longer run quarterback sneaks on and 1’s or even 1st and goals from inside the 3. Quarterback sneaks are the most effective short yardage plays in the history of football. They are near impossible to stop for no gain, and have a very high success rate of getting at least a half yard. It’s a play that should be utilized far more than it is in the NFL. It’s simple math.
