  1. So glad Fuad mentioned Tony Adams, that's real men overcoming his addiction and being able to see the other side of life.

  2. Even as a United fan I think Kante deserves a shout. He was real men. Covered every inch of pitch leading Leicester and Chelsea to league titles n a champs league win n was the most important piece in that 2018 France team alongside Pogba and he was incredibly incredibly humble.

  3. Imo you missed two real men:

Vincent Kompany: Classy man, always showed respect, never gave up. Came from Brussels (a tough part of Brussels) and as he said himself; people were not supposed to know him.

Pelé: To be the best Brazilian player at a young age as a black man at that time in Brazil, you got my respect. That is some real men shit. Winning 3 world cups while coming from the favela. Stopping a war in Nigeria. That is real men

  4. Sadio Mané

Born on April 10, 1992, in Bambali, Senegal. He was the son of a local village Imam and faced poverty from a very young age. His passion for football began early, and despite limited resources, he excelled in the sport. At 15, he left his village to join the Generation Foot academy in Dakar alone, against the will of his family, where he honed his skills and caught the attention of scouts.

Mané’s professional career began in France with Metz, and he later moved to clubs like Southampton and Liverpool, where he achieved remarkable success, including winning the Premier League, the Champions League and captaining his nation to AFCON.

Recognising his roots, Mané returned to Bambali, where he has invested significantly in community development. He funded the construction of a school, a hospital, and sports facilities, transforming his village and providing opportunities for future generations. His journey from poverty to global stardom, coupled with his commitment to giving back, has made him a beloved figure in Senegal and beyond.

    Real Men.

  5. My 'Real Men' XI:

    4-3-3

GK – Buffon, RB – Zanetti, CB – Adams, CB – Puyol, LB – Maldini, DM – Lothar Matthäus, CM – Zidane, CM – Gullit, RW – Figo, LW – Cruyff, ST – Cantona

*I know Cruyff played in the 1960's-1980's but I had to put him in, regardless.

  6. I was about to say that Messi was hated by his own country and they used to burn his shirt. Garnacho’s evil twin sister used to insult him from under his mother’s skirts. The last World Cup run was real men. He literally changed man. He just had different aura and left all of it there 😭😭😭

  7. Del Piero – star studded Juventus team were relegated, everyone left and he said, "I'm staying to captain this team back to the top"
