It allows me to see my ball travel even further into the woods.

Man that’s purdy. What course is this?

I live at sea level. This picture made my ears pop.

No chance I’m not taking a second ball to the tee box and swinging hard as fuck after putting one in play

  5. Love them until I duff it off the tee and watch it roll 140 yds down hill…..

  6. Yes have a lot of them at my home course. Not so much when dealing with a hook 😂

I just played at Mississippi national, red wing mn. Absolutely stunning golf course 10/10 would recommend. Gorgeous tee box placements.

About as much as I love hiking in the woods. This would be a fun hole.

For some reason I feel like a drive into the trees is easier from an elevated tee box. Am I crazy?

My driver and I have had a love hate relationship this year.

My home course has a lot of slope and some narrow driving holes. Way too often I find myself trying to steer the ball and the results aren’t exactly what I’d like.

Not a problem on elevated tee boxes though. Somehow I tend to relax and pure those shots. Maybe I should just imagine I’m on one of those holes on every tee box?

There’s a course near me that I play specifically because of the elevated boxes. (Oak Shadows, New Philadelphia OH) #5 is a par 3 that plays pretty significantly downhill. Pull the wrong club and you’re in the water behind the green. #10 is an average par 4, but you tee off from a “mountain.” It feels like the ball is in the air for an hour. #13 tee is on the same hill as #10. With the elevation, it’s a driveable par 4, but your shot would have to be absolutely perfect as there’s water down the right that cuts over right in front of the green. Overall I’m not a big fan of the course as it has a way of punishing good shots more than any other course I’ve played. It’s very unforgiving. If you aren’t in the short grass, you’re dropping, because every hole is bordered by woods and/or 6′ tall cat tails and weeds. It’s rated 73/132, but that’s not even close to accurate in my opinion. I think it was rated when it first opened in the 90’s before all the foliage grew in. Their slogan should be “Scottie would lose 6 balls here.”

Hamilton Island, hole 18. 40m/130ft drop, drove 350m/383yds, made par. Best feeling ever.

I will lose so many balls trying to hit the fairway – but when I do, I’ll be so happy

There’s a fun one on the 18th at a course I play 1-2x/year. Last year, I got ALL of it and it went 315, mostly carry. Thanks speed training! Penis felt at least average length.

This year, no speed training, poor hit, 250 yards. Frightened turtle, but still putting for birdie.

I actually don’t. It adds yards which is great. But the ball is in the air for forever. It is really hard to keep it online. There’s a lot of extra time for the ball to curve.

Elevation courses are tough. There’s a lot to factor.

Yes. These are the holes that I base my driving distance off when people ask how far I can hit my driver

As a coastal NC golfer, I very much enjoy the majestic views from my perch, sometimes 5 or maybe 6 feet above the fairway

Elevated opening tee shots should be gettable par5s, or relatively tame par4s.
