  1. Thanks for the video! As I understand the MLM2Pro is also a doppler radar unit, so the numbers could be affected by the Square being in the line of that signal. I'm optimistic for Square as when the MLM2Pro first came out, it also received a lot of backlash about accuracy. It's massively improved since then (and is still improving) through updates. Square is just making it's touchdown into newer markets and I would bet inside of 6 months they'll have made firmware and app updates to improve accuracy and usability based off of reviews.

  2. In my Garmin test the exact same results. It is the algorithm on distance. Ball speed a little lower than Garmin too. But when I connected it to GSPro it gives much better results with their software. Matches up a lot better all around.
    Great comparison!

  3. In this review, Square failed to read dots & spin more than twice with its Square dotted ball. Using the dedicated ball, but the info is getting even less accurate. I’m really curious why that happens.

And RPT balls aren’t compatible at all. Thanks for the info!

  4. Not the perfect test of course, but is there ever? The ball situation with the Square only claiming to get accurate numbers from its own ball and also potential for interference between the two launch monitors. I’d love to have been able to compare spin and some other parameter s too. Anyway, I hope it’s given a little more insight into the accuracy of the Square Golf launch monitor. Feel free to comment below your opinions ⛳️

  5. Pretty inconclusive test. Not being able to use each proprietary ball will always be a problem. If the square can be consistent, that is a good thing. If you put to gcquads beside each other you have different results. Maybe with time it will hopefully improve.

  6. There's no perfect test and definitive conclusions as mentioned before. Different launch monitors require different setups.

For example, judging by the shadows there is a light facing the square line with the ball which can cause spin misreads etc…

If the correct ball is used they perform better as expected. Balls for radar monitors are £70 or more, balls for the square are £40 from what i've read. Now, even using different balls can give different results because of the ball characteristics in the golf course.

  7. I think they will both potentially be accurate depending on the algorithm and balls used. You can change the ball settings in the Square to premium (+5%) or distance (+10%). You could probably then dial it in to a distance you are happy with where both LMs are reading the same. For a new product it has great potential and like the MLM2 pro it will no doubt be optimised with future firmware updates.

  8. The biggest problem that will hold the square from being number 1, is the inability to use it outside. Most other problems can, and most likely will, eventually be fixed.
