Was at 92 with 2 holes left to play. Hit one short on 8 (started the day at 10) into the water and it all fell apart from there. But I started the front nine with a par and ended with my first ever birdie so that was awesome!
It was on 18, a 524 yard, par 5 from the blues.I hit a perfect (for me) draw off the tee about 280 (downhill rollout) on the left side of the fairway. Left me with a 230 downhill shot that I hit a hybrid with and sat it on the fringe about 10 feet below the hole. Eagle putt, I put 6 inches to the right of the hole. I didn't realize at the time I reached that close in 2 and my 10 footer was actually for eagle. So after leaving it short, that birdie putt I thought was a par putt that I put away from 6 inches.

And yes, I know I should play faster, the guys I was with were shanking all over the place, and I had some as well. So we lost time and probably spent too much time sometimes looking for balls.
Congrats on your 1st bird , may you have many more
Congrats! What scoring app are you using? I’ve seen a couple of other posts with it and now I’m curious. You’re on your way, keep up the great work
FWIW you should move up a tee box and play from the whites if you can’t break 100
You suck move up a tee box and congratulations on the bird
If you aren’t breaking 100 you should be playing closer tees. Especially if Blues are furthest back. You should be able to easily break 80 to play from 6500 yards. How far you hit driver isn’t a good metric. Scoring average or Handicap is best.
Congrats on your first circle!
Why are you playing the blue tees?
Why on earth are you playing from the blues if you can’t break 100? Move up, give yourself a chance to score and have fun.
my brother in law suggested to me when I first started to shoot from tee boxes that are about 5600-5800yards (I was shooting low 100’s). Once i started to get a bit better (mid to low 90’s) I don’t play below 6000yards. I’ve just started to shoot consistently in the mid to low 80’s so I might move back a tee box that puts me around 6200-6400. My driver off the tee box is usually around 245-255yards. Hope this helps.
edit – Congratulations on your birdie!
After a while saving birdie balls doesn’t have the same cache
Can’t break 100 and playing from the blues. Clown show. Shrink the game
If I were you, I would ignore all the people telling you to move up from the tee box It really depends on the game that was played and if you had to wait for anybody in front of you, yes it will make your life easier and make the game quicker to move up, but if you pay a decent amount for the round and you’re not holding anybody, do what you want and have fun. 6500 is a lot tho Ollie
I feel this so much. I posted a similar experience recently and the results/comments were way different. I did it for fun, but was surprised I broke 100. Nice work, congrats on the birdie.
Let’s make sure the blue tees are the back tees . Played with some older friends on a course a few times. Before a friend of ours played with us and pointed out we were on the Senior tees which are blue. I was always confused because the colors were off I’ve always played from the whites . Needless to say I lost 20 yards on the first hole which is a par5 Dick.
Congrats dude, but definitely try playing from tee boxes further up. Try around 5800-6000 yards.
Keep working. Where do you lose your strokes?
How many penalties per round?
I have two rules. Rule 1. Never chunk a ball. Rule 2. Never blade a ball.
