I can hit mine about 185 if I really rip it and I suck at golf. 200 isn’t that big of deal. The main things are ball flight, compressing the ball, and swinging hard.

Mate I hit a 7i 200y… that’s not a big feat for these guys.

Speed and compression.

Be athletic. You dont need to be good at golf to get distance.
The skill is in the control. Distance will come with time. Do some speed training if you want. Learn to compress the ball well even without swinging that hard.

I hit my 7 between 145 and 155. If I nut it …I can get 165.

Be athletic, over 6′ tall or an excellent ball striker. At least two out of those three.

I can also hit my 7i 200+ yards without much trouble. But I hit it with accuracy only about 170 yards.
AnxiousMind7820
Me personally? I blade it and it skip hits the green another 30 yards by it.
LilOpieCunningham
you hit it down the fuckin’ road
hellzxmaker
The thing people miss with these distances is apex and launch angle. Sure “we can hit a 7i 185” but that shit is 75ft apex… these dudes hit their 4i higher than most of us hit our wedges.

I just write the number 7 on my 3 wood and call it a day.

Who cares? As long as you know your distance, don’t worry about how far anyone else hits theirs.

I usually choke down on the club a little bit

A mixture of a dedicated health regime , hitting the gym 4 days out of 7 , yoga for the suppleness, great technique that’s been correctly coached by a pro, a natural talent, top quality equipment, the ability to go to the range anytime you want, no time constraints due to work, personal ambition and a 20 plus years of experience.

I can hit a 6 iron about 190 on a good day.
The_Walrus69
Hit it twice

I’ve done it once. It was a fluke. Usually I hit it 175. 33° loft

i can hit my 7 iron 200 yards…if i slam the club face shut and hit a massive slinging draw
or if I play super game improvement irons

Idc I’m just out here trying to hit a handful of greens per round.
RoyalRenn
more clubspeed, centered strikes.
Go to any D1 college golf tournament and look at the guys on the range. They’re all covering 185+ with their traditionally lofted 7-irons. My 7-iron ball speed with my traditional lofts is 125, which equates to low 180s, and these guys would all beat me by 10 strokes on a normal day.
This might be impressive to the typical rec golfer shooting 100 but distance is just a number that good players can hit consistently. Much more impressive is that he can hold those greens with some impressive descent angles and spin. I’ve got to really flush a 7-iron to get to spin backwards at all. His probably rolls 5 feet back on average, on a harder green. And he’s 10 feet from the pin whereas I’m happy to have a 30-footer for birdie.

I carry my 7i 185. Can’t hit a lower iron well though so my cap is usually my 6 unless I’m really feeling it

I coached high school golf for 15 years starting in the early 2000’s. I talked to dozens of D1 college coaches in that time, as they actually had to come scout back them. “How far does he hit a 7 iron?” came up a lot. And if it wasn’t nearly 200, they were skeptical, unless the kid was still an underclassman. There were always exceptions, but those schools are recruiting worldwide, and looking for a baseline.

about this far.
I usually do it in two shots
185. I play a split set though, 7 iron is bent 1 degree strong so it’s slightly juiced.
I would like to hit my driver consistently 200 yards
Roy McAvoy hit his 7 iron 227 and lost his ride. Distance isn’t everything. 😀
Very quickly.
Yes but wildly inaccurate and inconsistent. Few hozzle rockets in the mix for me too.
I hit my 7i over 200 once. Unfortunately the pin was only 170.
Had a 7 go 217 downhill downwind this year baby
Wait til you see Kyle Berkshire hitting 300 yard 8 irons.
What is the loft though?
I posted a video doing that on this forum and got downvoted to hell, LOL.
Don’t mean to brag but so do I. Just not with one swing.
Amatuer, if I catch my PW just right I can hit it 200+ 😏… and by just right I mean when Im trying to pitch shot 50yards off hard pan.
I barely hit my driver 200 yards
Most of my shots with my 60° wedge go 200 yards
He keeps his head down.
my 7 iron goes 180, thats technically nearly 200
