I grew up playing Bethpage Black and play all the courses in the Metro area and the sentiment I hear over and over is the Americans whining cost them the last Ryder Cup and the good boy club picks like JT for the last RC instead of the best players who deserved it like Keegan, New York fans will not forget. So if JT plays or any player from the last RC the fans will be hard on them period. Those players need to play lights out or everyone will get on them. Also, the talk is Keegan is super loved, super respected and super adored and everyone LOVES him as a pick even over Tiger who they view as an elite entitled celebrity. New Yorkers don't care about yachts and stardom they like grit guts and fighters which is why they view Keegan as one of their own. That's the word form the streets of Golf here in NYC.
Watching Sergio play so well this season, Luke Donald should want him on his team on a ball striking course like bethpage.
And Puig is increasingly looking like a good partner for Sergio, if not Rahm.
kinnings needs to find a way to get access to all the LIv players. It’s not FAIR or good for integrity sakes if the pga has access to everyone but they don’t.
There was a lot of misunderstandings and heated passion early on that led to the euro vets giving up status on their tour. They need to work it out already.
Sergio no doubt could apologize for a few things that happened in the heat of the moment.
Keegan shouldn’t rule out Phil. The pga shouldn’t rule out Phil. It would honestly be perfect if Phil and Keegan reunite to manage this team in NY. It would be the perfect way to reintegrate Lefty. Which needs to happen.
The number 1 job of the cap is to have the dozen best players. If Keegan is one of those he should not rule himself out.
All the questions about Keegan playing takes the focus away from Everyone else. Which is a good thing.
The pairings are mostly set unless someone is clearly struggling, and if that’s clearly the case they can just go to a predetermined plan b.
We make lot about the captains and strategy and all but at the end of the day both teams need their 12 best more than anything.
I really hope we can figure out these car fights because while the NY fans could get a bit out of hand booing and heckling literally anyone on both sides; this event has —if everyone is reunited there after everything that’s gone on— the potential to be the greatest show ever.
