Amazingly, I hit one about that close last December playing with some college buddies. It ended up on the opposite side of the cup as the tee box, some 3 inches away, so it may have hit the pin or lipped out. So close!
The very next day when I least expected it, I holed one out during a rainstorm. It hit the front apron, and hydroplaned right into the flagstick and down. When I pulled it out, the hole was full of water a la Caddyshack.
