  1. Hi Tom, your videos are fantastic. I always look forward to new episodes. I am a member of sagutogolf on line school.

I videoed my swing over the weekend. Quite frankly I have lost everything. I hope this drill you put up helps. My club is very steep, my left arm seems stuck to my body. I do not think I am pointing my left shoulder far enough to the ground. I also believe I am pulling my right elbow back trying to swing the club around my body, no straight left arm.

  2. This is 2 funny, I always come from over the top, despite everything i tried. Today my only swing thought was 2 hit the ball "7 o'clock", and it fixed everything! And here u are practically showing it😅 guess everything has its time..

  3. Interesting, albeit confusing, that an inside out swing path ( Jim Veneto's, JVGA) Steve Peterson, Eureka Golf swing produces such a 'down the line' divot. Why the heck is that??
Love your work. Thanks very much.
397 golf instruction channels and your Sir are in my top three. And I continue to play marginal goff at 77.

  4. Tom, your instruction has greatly helped my game. But I do notice that with the longer clubs, I sometimes incorrectly and inadvertently push back with my lead leg creating a reverse pivot, and hitting the shot fat. Do you have any tips or videos on how to avoid that?

  5. Do you turn your upper body first on the backswing or move your arms back? I find that when I swing driver I rotate the upper body as my arms can’t/don’t need to move that much, but on shorter irons I bring my arms back and up first and then rotate. I can usually hit those ok, but when I get to my 5 iron it’s rough.

  6. Do you have a trigger, thought, bump or something your thinking about to start your takeaway? I love your content and it has really helped me shed some strokes but I sometimes feel lost when trying to think about something to start my takeaway. Do you have something to focus on?

  7. when i do this, i sometimes tend to throw my hands to much to the right causing overdraw and even shanks. Do you have a drill for the right exit?

  8. Thanks Tom – a great lesson again. One thing this definitely does is reduce or kill ball spin – so many of us who come over the top will cut across the ball and impart silly spin that obviously kills straightness and distance. Thanks man.

  9. Tom.. I was finally broke 90 this weekend.. all my shots were not pretty.. but I was able to scramble. I have been trying to not focus on my score, I have been trying to focus on my contact.. I know I can be better on my contact.. but every time i am on the course I have hope.

  10. Great lesson time. Looks like your wall concept replaces your lesson about keeping your arm pit glued to your peck. Look at this video when you are swinging the driver. I am a bit confused here, which concept should I focus on? Still loving your stack and tilt, it has really helped my game for both accuracy and distance.

  11. Yes, the key is to have an element of push back in the transition. One, little exercise that helps shape the arc is to just stand in an upright position; and, then cast the club out in front of you, with your left hand. Then just relax the hand and arm and allow the ligaments to extend and lower the club down to the ground. if you place your right hand on the club, take your address position; and, swing the club back, you will feel yourself swinging in to out.

  12. Do you "bow" your left wrist more to close the face more at impact when you're doing this in to out swing?

  13. Thanks Tom. My only swing thought today at the range was weight on left side and it was unreal. First swing 9 iron carried 155 and it felt so crisp. The ball felt so soft off of the face. Driver was 280 carry and 300 rollout. I see buckets of extra crispy chicken with mashed potatoes in my future thanks to you.

  14. Every time you get to practice swing the club reverse 8, before every shot, every shot, every shot, push away, come in ,push out behind come in play shot,,,simples but be prepared for a learning curve tis tried tested out path drill all those sticks aint gonna work on a typical range matt set up. Obvo fan of content.

  15. Tom, do you like having a staggered-closed stance to be able to access the inside quadrant of the ball more easily?

  16. Thank you thank you thank you….. I’ve been struggling with a shank for the last month and finally after watching this video and putting it into my practice I’ve stripped over 200 shots without a shank. Thanks again love this channel.

  17. This actually worked for me, instead of deliberately trying to shallow out the club, i swung out the right. i was hitting crispy straight pushes which told me i was making a change. more work to do however

  18. Tom I love how you reply to almost everyone even us lurkers in the cheap seats! Enjoy your stuff.

  19. As someone who was always over the top, went to the range and was hitting ball first crispy draws instead of the slice. The only thing is I found I was missing with a push right. What's the cause of that and how can I fix it. All in all, the video was extremely helpful.

  20. What I did was to imagine. I take the backswing and at the top, I imagine a wagon wheel suddenly appears. It is right in front of me, floating about 10 inches over the ball and pointed slightly inside to out. The idea is to swing under the wagon wheel, without hitting it. Hit the ball, but don't touch the wagon wheel. It is a similar idea to your wall.

  21. This is great stuff! I actually started hitting those draws you were talking about today at the range starting straight and going ever so slightly left! Looks good on film too!

  22. Yes! This is why I am short arming some of my shots!!
    Thank you thank you !

Headed to the range today with this!

  23. After practicing with this, yes I can get a baby draw, but I am not getting any more power from this. Where does that magic power come from?

  24. You may have unlocked something here for me with this drill Tim. I was hitting my wedges in my back yard over my practice net 😮 excited to continue to work on this and implement it next week on the course!

  25. awesome. another thing that really helps me is i visualize the club path through the ball and i know if my setup is good, im stacked well, shoulder down (get down on it), arms connected and my wrist conditions are set its always going to be a good shot. most times i just visualize the path and my body already reacts to it and i dont even need to think about it now, but at the range i just do everything i just said slowly. gonna add this drill into it as well. thanks tom.

  26. In the slow motion swing u can really see how he leads everything with his hip movement. I really think THIS is the key to a good swing. And I just can’t do it. I’ve watched several of his videos on the hip bump (which he actually pointed me too) and still I just can’t sync my body to do it. 😔

  27. Tom is this what the old timers meant when they would say “feel like you are swinging out to right field”?

  28. Crispy nugget session. Love it.

Because of you, my golf journey has been fun so far.
(Started late May of this year)
You have helped me correct not so crispy shots with the irons and have helped big time with the driver. Hats off to you my guy. Best round so far in my noob journey is a 93. So big thank you, Tom. 🫡

  29. I tried this with almost golf balls in the back yard and hit some very good shots. I hit down too steeply several times. I am still recovering from rotator cuff surgery and am afraid hitting down so steep will be too hard on my shoulder. Any suggestions for a consistently shallower path.
Really liking this and am getting 0:10 my son involved in it.

  30. Tom, I noticed the grips on your clubs seem larger than standard. What are your thoughts on the midsize grips or jumbo grips?

  31. Hi again, need a little help here. In your lessons you suggest to let the swing start with the shoulders and the hips follow throuth naturally. However, looking at the slow motion with tha driver at around 10:20 it looks like you are, in contrast to what I quoted above, load and start the swing with the hips, letting the shoulders follow. What am I not getting here? Thanks for clarification!

  32. A drill my buddy has me doing that got me more depth and on a better plane. Swinging to 7 to 1 o’clock is what this is. Works very well

  33. Hi Tom, great video! My question is about getting the club face square, or closed. I purchased a Mevo Plus with the pro package and face impact. A great product, by the way. I'm getting pretty good with having an in to out swing path. What I'm not very good at yet is getting my club face square at impact. I think since I'm really putting emphasis on my swing path going out to the right, it's causing me to leave the club face open. My question is on the correct process to get the club face closed. Is that done with more wrist hinge at impact? I can achieve it by rolling my left wrist slightly, but of course that's not very consistent. Just wanted to know the correct way to do it.
