  1. When you’re 70 and play at that level, its likely you have blown through the traditional grips and they all have bad Karma attached

It probably fits his Dupuytren’s contracture better

I’m a lefty, and when I putt right-handed, this is basically the grip that I use.

  4. Who is that?

Just within the past hour on tv, saw a guy use this very grip. It was either on Korn Ferry or the Sanderson Farms event.

Still less weird to me than broomstick and armlock.

  6. Wibbly23

if you’re judging, you’ve never been desperate.

  7. vagueink

Weird that less dominant hand is the yipper.

  8. GhostofAugustWest

Honestly, I would putt naked if I made more putts.

Everything goes, especially when you’re older. I play right hand but putt left hand. Different muscle group. After 8 or 9 holes muscle memory is, well, set for big shots. Try putting left.

Not if you’re a lefty trapped with swinging right handed like me!

I get it, putting yips. But I always think that the most clutch putter I’ve ever seen has a traditional grip.

I can only imagine how many pearls are clutched when they see me using a broomstick with side saddle for my fun rounds.

  13. We have a putting mat at work. Coworker was telling me about one of his buddies that putts with an open stance, putter lined up inside his back foot and delofted like a chip. We had a laugh. I tried it for fun. Holy shit I may switch to it now.

I understand that the opposite grip gives more stability etc.. Just can’t get it working for me 😂 I do like that people have started doing it more with short chip and runs, it’s basically the same action as putting.

  15. Lab putter left hand low claw. This is a desperate man.

  16. mypizzanvrhurtnobody

I’ve been left hand low for a long time and could never understand the appeal of the claw grip.

I am left handed and have ironically used a friends’ right handed putter with a left hand low claw grip. It felt……. Right.

  18. Typical_Winter2935

Putting is soooooooooooooooooooo overrated & dramatic….
If I showed how I now putt….you’d be outraged @ the simplicity.
I call my new game pure golf (not marketing it, just describing)

It’s funny, when I toyed with claw and left hand low. I also instinctively wanted the claw the same way. It felt natural to me to “pull” the putter through. I ended up just going back to tradition grip once I realized my problem is I lined up my putts like a fucking asshole

Homie playing for $ still so let him cook

Thought that guy was my old man for a second. He makes it work. I can’t say anything. He still gets me by probably 8 strokes every time we go out. He also gets in my head by hole 4. “Lined up wrong, move your left foot back a little”. SCHWACK! Bladed to all hell. “Oh shit, sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything”. Every god damn day.

  22. ewooddan

If you make putts that’s all that matters

  23. DUPCangeLCD

seems like the equivalent of when all those baseball players were wearing magnet necklaces and bracelets. Athletes can be very superstitious…
