  1. The concept isn’t ridiculous.

Well, it is, but not as ridiculous as the execution.

If the anchor was two foot in front it would work (better).

But this is why God created driving ranges.

I think there was an episode of extreme cheapskates where this couple wanted to golf but found out how expensive golf balls were. They tied them to string in effort not to lose them

It’s almost like that ball attached to a looper so that when you hit it and it spins around and around and around….except worse. Much worse

I had a practice ball on a tether when I was a kid (in the 80s/90s) and it was old then, I’m guessing it was made in the 70s. The string was around 20′ long and it fastened to the ground with two spikes joined with about a 6″ bungee – the string was attached to the middle of the bungee. I have no idea where it came from, my grandparents golfed a lot and had all kinds of random crap so I probably got it from them. You definitely had to be careful where the string was when you hit it.

About 40 years late, my dad had the same thing when I was a kid, had a metal spike to push into the ground & a spring & string attached to that., probably still in the back of the garage somewhere.

I played with a Korean dude with a tee like that the other day. He had a mask on though.

If you use winch line that’s engineered to not snap back you might be in good shape

    Cheaper alternatives:

1: full shots with a 90 degree wedge

    2: turboskying your driver

    3: power slice 180degrees

    4: only use a footwedge
