I had a similar almost ace on like my 3rd time playing. Got lucky and paired up with a golf coach and then got super lucky on a par 3. Somehow hit it flush and landed 3 inches from the hole. Left an inch deep divot and ball popped out between the divot and hole and just stopped. I was shocked, in awe, in love, and pissed off all at the same time.
I’ve had arguments about those plastic rings they put inside the top of the cup. They make a difference.
So close yet so far away. I feel your pain.
Got 1 hole in one in my life. Had the absolute WORST day golfing that day. Couldn’t find a good shot to save my life. Stepped up to the 18th tee, threw my ball down, whacked and turned around. Buddy said “that’s going to go in” so I turned around just in time to watch the ball fall in. Best day of golf so far ahahahaha!!
