Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel! This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf equipment reviews, golf instruction & I play against some of the best golfers in the world!

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.

I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

  1. A good move assuming something fresh takes its place. Break 75 just doesn't cut it with all the YouTube golf content coming out now, standard is much higher. Just go look at Bryson trying to break 50 with Bob Does Sport

  2. unsubscribed.

Anyone who takes a video down because they didnt see how bad their attitude was and wants to hide it, isnt an honest golfer.

All teh best Rick, im sure you wont miss one persons subscription. No sleep lost by either of us.

  3. Rick, first of all you are the Best out here on youtube. And a true Gentleman. You should have Ronan on your side continously.

  4. I am on the same journey. I shot 75 on 3 occasions in my life at 2 different courses, 2 times home course and another at local course. I was looking good being 1 over after 16 and went bogey bogey. Incredible round 1 eagle and 3 birdies.

  5. Not a bad round given the conditions and course, could have been 72 on a good Karma day where the putts drop. Take that positive, optimistic attitude and that caddy to next years open qualifying and you'll do way better than last time!!

  6. It’s the best series going. Some mixed opinions flying around about Rick at the moment but I’m always invested in these, gutted when those birdie putts don’t drop! Really nice round and very nearly a great one.

  7. Rick, I love your channel. Thanks for all the great content. I know you are not a religious person, but it is off-putting when you swear using the Lord's name in vain. Keep up the great content otherwise.

  8. Playing championship courses from the back tees for the first time and trying to break 75 after the greens team set up courses knowing they’ll be filmed is a tough ask. Enjoyed the series and look forward to what’s coming next. 👍🏻

  9. I stopped watching most of Rick's B75 vids a year or two ago, when Guy became a steady presence. It was ok with Rick alone, but Guy's constant talking and poor play just didn't make it enjoyable.

  10. I'm sure you know this but for the past few videos when you are into wind, you are decelerating on the downswing and not trusting the wind to actually knock the ball down. Apart from that, you drove it well today and hit some great sand shots.

At any rate, loved the video and series. I'll watch no matter the format you play. Cheers Pal.

  11. After Bryce Dechambeau shot 58 he said his old golf coach had him play from the front tees and try and shot 59 to “learn how to score.” Break 60 series from the front tees?

  12. Golf is not about the big number at the end
Its truly tough when I play more golf than ever and I still seem to somehow get worse. Beginning of this year I was breaking 50 consistently(9 holes). Lately iv been 54/55.
I decided to go play a par 33 today.
43 strokes, last hole, par 4, 388 yards.
1- Top my driver 30 yards,
2- beautiful 7 wood to 160 yards in,
3- 7 iron catches a tree limb and lands in a hedge,
    4- hack it out,
    5- chip over the green,
6- chip back over the green,
7- 20 ft out on the fringe, 1 putt and it drops
50 fucking strokes, i was so gutted. Its a god damn curse.
iv lost all confidence over the ball, it takes literal willpower to even swing.
this game is hard, i tell myself to take it all in stride. I usually do,
iv been playing best ball which has been a huge help, hitting the range to help with confidence, got a new 3 wood that i love.
You've got to find ways to make the game enjoyable, you've got to regain your confidence, and aiming at a goal too lofty is never a good idea. I'm sad to see break 75 go, but it made me realize something. Even pros need to take a break every once in a while and regain their footing.
Rather than the big number at the end I'm going to work on reducing my 3 putts, I'm going to work on 1 chipping on the green, I'm going to work on taking a breather.
It’s not just about the score; it’s about finding joy in the game

  13. Loved seeing all the different courses. Watching someone constantly score close to 80 (and his colleague mid 80s) is not that great tbh

  14. I've watched this channel for ages, and i don't get the Rick hype, his reviews are fantastic as those are always very good, informative and fair. However, his is golf is just about a 5hcp i would say at best..(only plays decent at his home course near the traff centre)… i play off 10 at Delamere and i think even allowing Rick a practise round, he'd not win by 5… (scratch match).

  15. Playing from those black tees and and in that kind of wind is very brave . We need to appreciate that bravery. Really great golf. A pleasure to watch!

  16. I hope replacement content will be just as entertaining. Haters gonna hate, Id take your game any day. The naysayers cant break 100. Anyone that has any game at all understands the struggle and would never disparage an individual who is as open as you are about your craft. Good work.

  17. Rick, best coach ever
With humility and guts to play in front of millions. You should try for the open again. John Kelly
