  1. Great video . I had a fitting recently and after hitting a lot of irons , the fitter recommended the T200 would be best for me . We went with a blended set . Should be with me in around a month

  2. Great vid. I tested the t150 and t200 irons before getting a fitting and I actually ended up with t150 up to 6 iron and a t200 5 iron just for that bit of extra forgiveness in the top end of the bag. Love them so far and I’m looking to book in with you to get a proper gapping session done to make sure the fitter did his job properly!

  3. Top four for me as a mid handicapper.
Ai200 (and I never picked Callaway in past). Srixon cobra and pxg.

  4. Titleist messed up by having chrome on the T200 instead of matching it to the t150/t100

  5. Great comparison! Own the T200, Srixon, and Ping i530. Have hit all the rest, with the exception of the Callaway. 7 iron swing speed is 82-83. To underscore the degree of subjectivity that these tests always entails, T200 is my least favorite. Srixon is great, Mizuno are most attractive, Cobra does feel great. I also like the PXGs. Current playing the Pings. One thing to keep in mind-if you’re playing a club like Ping, you need to play a high spin high flying ball, a la Pro V1x, PXG, Vice Pro Plus, etc. Can get 5-10 feet more elevation that way, with concomitant improvement in landing angle and spin. All in all, one of the better tests on this category of clubs. You have a new subscriber!

  6. Got fitted into the Cobras earlier this year, similar swing speed to the test. Tried Titleist,, Mizuno HM Pro, Srixon, TM and the Cobras were the best for me by a mile. I’m quite high launch and spin so they did a great job of lowering both. Went with KBS Tour Lite Stiff shaft, which I also love. Great review, only thing I would have liked is maybe an ‘honourable mention’ in each category and overall. Dunno why, though!! 😁

  7. Your videos are amazing! The fact you have videos with swing speeds like us mortals is outstanding. To gain more subscribers you might want to reach out to Shiels, Robinson, and Finch and have them do some “celebrity” spots with you. I was also thinking of famous British actors who play golf and have them in for a fitting. Cheers!

  8. At first, i was crazy with the p790 then i tested the mizuno iron, wow i was surprised enough. The feel and accuracy don't lie. Mizuno irons will stay in my golf bag for very very long time.

  9. It all depends on the fit. My fit was better with 923 forged with 950geo shaft vs p790 with mmt 105 shaft.

  10. Titleist also has a bunch of shafts options stock if you order from them. They provide a fitting off real grass at a real range , I like this. I own the mizuno 225 , I like the graphite shaft option they offered in 2022 compared to titleist . My battle that year was the srixon and the mizuno , they had the steel fiber shaft stock. The mizuno won on looks and I LOVE them , they also hold up to abuse very well. Great content , keep up the good work !

  11. I have owned the T200s, PXG 0311P Gen 6, 2023 P790s, and the Mizuno Pro 245s. I wish I had started the year with the 245s; I would have saved much money😂. I was fitted for all four sets, and the Mizuno set is perfect for my game and ability as an 8.5 handicap.

  12. I’m fairly high handicap (26) and in cobra dark speed which my peers tell me are too low launch and too hot for me swinging with 125-130mph 7 iron ball speed. I’ve only been playing a few months and was advised to get something like a t150-t200 combo to grow into, thoughts?

  13. In my top three channels for fair and accurate data, along with Jay at AskGolfNut and Ian and Mikey at TXG. Always appreciate you chipping some 7-irons out there 150 for us mere mortals, Russ!

I have Titleists in the bag right now, a blend of 620MB, T150, and T200. The T200 5-iron surprised me. First it felt pretty good. It feels and sounds LOADS better off grass than inside off a mat. It also goes fairly high (for me) and spins and stops decently. I'm right at that speed where on paper I really shouldn't even be using a 5-iron, because I'm low 80s with 7-iron and only up to mid/high 80s with 5-iron – sometimes touching 90/91. But you just can't beat a long iron for punch escapes and hitting funky little low hooks and draws into the wind. And off the tee it's plenty easy to get it high enough to stop. Well… if it's a back pin…and a slow green. Ha!

  14. How is this man critiquing anything with that swing? The one handed follow through is killing me and questioning the testing criteria.

  15. I’ve tried all of these, you fitted me into the 790’s and was verging on 770, glad i went for the 790 as already dropped 5 shots on my handicap, back to mid single figures despite my age. It wasn’t just the club, it was your shaft fitting, going back to steel and slightly heavier has improved my distance and dispersion. So, getting a good fitting is most important, which ever of these you chose.

  16. Had P790 for 3 years, Don't think there is anything out there that is different enough to make a significant improvement worth £1000 for a new set. So will be keeping mine for a while yet!
    Good video though, very informative,

  17. I am surprised by the Titleist t200. I will need to try this iron, but I am a MIZUNO guy though. Well done!!

  18. The ai200 had one of thr lowest spin and decent angle yet has the fewest yard roll out. I don't understand that. Considerably lower than p700

  19. Well done swinging at 80, it's so much more relatable for the clubs being used. You mention that for even slower swings 70-75 you'd recommend a more lofted option, my swing is in that lower speed range but my delivery and strike point is pretty good. 3.5 to 4 down, fraction in to out, club face angle square or slightly open, slight draw spin. If you do a 70-75 mph video I imagine you'd be demoing the HL models, if that video does take place would you mind also hitting a couple of more traditional lofted compact models as well. (primarily without the off set). Thanks and well done again. (just subscribed, thought I had already but have done so now).

  20. I have the newest Cobra Forged Tec single length irons. I own lots of various high end Japanese brand irons but these quickly became my favorites.
Broke 70 twice for the first time ever within one month of gaming these.
I can’t imagine ever going back to anything else.

  21. Another great comparison. I think that going into price, free shaft ( upgrade) options and overall package might also be useful especially from a fitting perspective. Having that experience and those options would provide a great insight for those who haven’t had an expert fitting experience. ⛳️🏌🏻

  22. What would you fit someone in that has reasonably quick speeds (118-124mph driver speed) and is a mid to highish handicap 15-22. Game improvement has jacked lofts and you mention these aren't made with players with higher speed hands that dont have trouble getting the ball up.

  23. You focus so much on the spin and height but the Apex stops quicker and flies further and stops quicker than all the others. If this is the case then height and spin are not the be all to end all.

  24. Great video Ross , your way of putting information across is exceptional. Lovely to see your beautiful dog again, she is stunning.

  25. Realizing that there are so many irons in this category, how do you think the p770 compare to the p790 in this category? I’ve had recommendations to try the p770 from a couple of friends but have not yet been fitted

  26. Great video, Ross! My SS is very close to what you were showing and I am a 10 HC, so just the information I need to upgrade from my Callaway Rogue Pro irons. Beautiful dog as well! Redbone coonhound?

  27. Another great video. Kind of weird how different they all are but at the same time so similar. The P790 seemed to give the best launch, spin and tightest dispersion but didn't win a single category.

  28. Been playing the Cobra Forged Tec for about 18 months and have been great, but have been considering a Srixon Zx5 and 7 combo set

  29. Cheers mate, you are undoubtedly the best reviewer on “the Tube” thank you for all of your hard work.

  30. Been fitted and playing the Cobra Forged TecX for the year and am totally disappointed with distance, feel and forgiveness. Changed shafts still w no success. Back to my old Speedblades but will consider Takoma, Maltby, and even Costco (great no risk return policy)
