Where’s my 175-yd slice to OB?

    I feel discriminated against.

  2. W38k_5auce

Out of 27 people they couldn’t drive the ball longer than 246? Did they sample an old folks home?

  3. Metaboschism

Come on where is the guy who says he hits 250-300 on the regular

  4. JanitorsRevenge

246? Thisiswildgolf has never met a redditor.

  5. Blurple11

This has got to be with rollout. Ain’t no way this many amateurs with consistent mishits on the toe and heel are getting well over 200 carry

  6. MTskier12

Needs another point like 4mm inside from the hosel for me.

  7. Zastavarian

What’s the distance for these redditors hitting off the hosel? We know the head goes flying, they all tell us that part… but what about the ball?

  8. StrikingApricot

5,477 amateur shots and not one hosel rocket?

  9. Mysterious_Value_764

Should have come to Reddit golf to get the 350 yard drives.

Don’t see a 60 yard sky ball on the graphic

  11. I mean, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I normally hit about 230, but I hit a 300 yard bomb today soooooo

  12. Leraldoe

Does that too right 232 include the 180 yards of slice I will be putting on it when I hit it there?

  13. gusbmoizoos

so avoid the heel and don’t top the ball … it’s going to be so much easier now

I thought the sweet spot changes from club to club and most are found north west of the center

  15. deebo_dasmybikepunk

This is so dumb. Obviously it also depends on swing path, face angle and angle of ascent.

The Stathole strikes again! Dropping knowledge on the world of golf.

So many variables to this with models. I know for a fact that if I hit my TSR out of the heel, I’ll hit it 20-40 yards further than out of the toe.

For high handicappers or slicers, a toe strike might straighten their shot, adding distance, but for a drawer, a heel strike will only add distance.

Adding to that, a draw will typically add distance and ball speed due to less spin, but will significantly reduce carry due to lack of height.

I know if hit closer to the heel, it’ll feel much better and go significantly further than a toe strike, and probably the same for most long hitters and low handicappers.

That said, just slightly closer to the toe of the sweet spot may produce a better shot for many from what I’ve seen in some club reviews from years back, although that could’ve been down to the reviews and their shot shape at the time.

Higher in the face, above the sweet spot does make sense, though considering that will significantly reduce spin.

I’ve never felt more seen on this sub

That is why I hit my 1 iron 250 down the center

  20. fanglazy

Everyone on here hits way further than that.

  21. Please do not trust anything that has Lou Stanger’s name on it. Idk the particulars of this study, but given his absurd representation of the Arccos data set and his instance that it’s reliable and representative of golfers in general, he’s not to be taken seriously.

  22. Sweatycamel

I don’t hit driver the most consistently but this is my 5 wood I have made the green several times @245 yards to center. I had to get a 7 wood to close the gap between irons and 5 wood

This picture must mean when hitting against a string wind. I’m usually striping them somewhere in the 400 range. If it’s a short par 4, I have to take some off of my backswing.
