Toddler Shoes as Blade Headcover

Hello everyone, I know I’m late to this topic/trend but I was hoping some fellow members would have some anecdotes about how they figured out what size of shoe, model of shoe, etc. would fit their blade putter.

I have a 2016 LH Scotty Newport 2.0 blade. Thanks for your time.

I attached a photo to kind of visually explain what I’m looking at doing 🙂

I didn’t know this was a trend but sounded like it was an interesting idea to repurpose baby shoes. Definitely didn’t know people were buying baby shoes to use solely as putter covers but hey, you do you.

  2. GolfGodsAreReal

So what you are saying is if you had a child with 1 foot you could go into the putter cover business

I think the only reasonable solution is to bring your putter into an Oshkosh B’gosh and start testing out shoes until you find a fit

  4. I use a size 8C Jordan 1 Mid with an old 80’s Ping Anser.

My son has an original pair of baby Jordan’s he uses as a head cover. He only uses the
Right one lol. The other is still in the original box. I wonder how much there worth?

It’s been done for years. People/companies stitching them up specifically into putter covers.

I’d have to find mine to check the size but I think the lining they add may cover the size tag…

I’ve seen it in the wild and it’s cool. Guy bought a cheap pair at Marshall’s and has a back-up for when first one is lost.

    I’m quite positive it’s a child’s size 5

I use a size 8c Jordan 1 shoe for my 2023 Newport 2.l blade. I had to tie it a bit tight for the best fit. I would recommend size 6c or 7c for a perfect fit. Avoid low-top styles, you’ll need the mid or high-top support for a good fit to not worry about it falling off. A style like the picture you posted would work perfect.

I think it’s 6c or 8c that fits a blade putter. It’s a common thing to look up on golfwrx or even here I bet

I have a child’s 6c Reimagined Bred Jordan 4 for my Scotty. Fits perfectly.

I have a friend that uses a toddlers chucks as a cover

My wife is a sneaker head and has a baby Jordan as her putter cover. Always gets comments

I made mine from my daughter’s size 5 velcro Vans. It was actually slipping off a lot so I eventually epoxied a sock into it.

  15. Play the long game and wait for your niece to grow out of them

  16. Nonconformists

With that LH putter, be sure to use a left shoe. All us normies use right toddler shoes, so yours will be easy to find.

  17. Get me a shell toe or Stan smith adidas and I’m in

So I need to get rid of my mallet and switch to a blade just to get a shoe cover 🤔🤔

I use my kids old size 6 shoe. Love having it on the course and hopefully one day he’ll join me on the course and then make it a tamily tradition

  20. I used a tiny timberland boot and had a lil sock sewn into it.

Hey OP. I did this with a pair of my son’s shoes. I already had the shoe, and I just tried it out to see if it fit. I used a vendor from Etsy to get an elastic sock sewed into it. I tried to find the vendor but couldn’t find it.

    Good luck!

I’ve never heard of this, but I kinda like it, lmao

  23. Warlockholmes

Size 6 kid shoe has worked for all my blades.

  24. WayneDaniels

Go to a goodwill. Find a child’s shoe. Take the shoe to the golf club section and find a putter. Should be a relatively close fit to your own.

  25. Oscars_Quest_4_Moo

I’ve been using my little girls Shoe!

  26. airjordan77lt

Size 6C bruv. Fits my LH Scotty newport2 perfectly. I got the Jordan 10s and 1s of course

  27. ILOVETHINGSTHATGO

I heard kids socks are great iron covers.

I just tried my kids shoes on mine when they outgrew them (size 7c) Seemed pretty perfect to me length wise. I used Jordan 1 highs , I imagine anything lower would get annoying. I wouldn’t try to match putter I’d try to match / compliment the bag or other headcovers
