Why have Asian women become extremely good at golf over the last two decades? A few decades ago, stars like Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa dominated women’s golf. And Asian players?? They were rarely seen at the top. But then, something remarkable happened… Se Ri Pak and Inbee Park, emerging from South Korea, broke barriers and inspired young girls across Asia with their incredible success.

US athletes are always eventually overtaken by others when the sport is opened to others, golf is no exception. if the rest of the world was bored enough to play baseball or american football the same would happen
American kids have too many options and golf ranks fairly low for most young people looking for a good time.
2 billion Asians vs 330 million Americans… so it makes numerical sense
Only partly correct – only the obvious – it is much more than that. Just for a start – in Korea talented juniors are kept on the driving ranges for years honing their swings and techniques – they have to 'earn' being allowed to play on a real golf course – and they continue doing that. In Japan and Thailand and China it is the same – the girls have to earn their way up the chain – nothing is given and they accept being driven to succeed – most western girls do not and will not accept that. The second main issue is mental toughness and commitment – that is genetic and endemic in Asia – that is why more and more American LPGA Pros are Asian Americans. Most western girls are spoilt and self-centred – they are treated like Princesses and they do not have a clue about self-sacrifice – and that is what it takes to be successful on a Pro tour. Getting back up when knocked down, and accepting things dont always go your way, is something Asian women have inside them from a young age. There are some other reasons too – but that is enough. 5/10.
Because our women had a head start with freedom here… now other countries have free women too.
Now it’s going to come down to skill and hard work. I doubt our ladies can stay near the top for much longer.
There's also a but of a culture thing. Asian girls seem to enjoy hitting balls and improving their swing and find tue game interesting. Most western women think it's kind of a dumb game and don't take it seriously.
