  1. Great lesson today, Chris! What I would give to have a lesson with you! I feel like I am very close to my lightbulb moment. I am determined to become a good golfer!

  2. Hi Ryan ,I used to play golf exactly like that (Nick Faldo drill) and I was playing to a 2 handicap. Brilliant tip and great video. I enjoy your videos and how you put your points over

  3. Great drill! I've been having a problem with wrist position and set lately, and this drill makes it easy to make sure my wrists are in a good position throughout the swing. Thanks!

  4. Having watched and benefited from you for years from NZ, one of the reasons I recommend you to friends and golfers, is the fact that you breakdown sections of the swing to help know the full makeup of the swing, and this is a classic example! Great work Chris and thank you.
    Cheers Socks

  5. Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. Not the best swing on the PGA Tour, best ever was Ben Hogan, and yes, I am tires of hearing about Woods, womaniser, oh, there's Tiger again, sitching off

  6. Brilliant vid. Can you do the next vid covering the downswing and controlling face angle?
    Thanks!

  7. You mentioned Nick Faldo's backswing practice – which I think is excellent. Faldo and Els (and many others have had far better backswings that Woods IMO). I digress…

What do you think about the old backswing drill where you setup to the ball, set the wrists (like you showed), and then fold your arms to rest the club on your shoulder (between your head and rear shoulder), and then pivot/rotate around until your body reaches the end of its backswing, and then extend the left arm away from your chest/head putting width where it would be at the end of the backswing. With the backswing ending with your arms swinging as you indicated in your drill one time some one may abduct them across the chest a certain amount, but the next time a different amount – and the arms could potentially break down near the top if the body has completely stopped at that point.

  8. Woods remained one of the best iron players throughout his career. But why did Woods become such a poor driver of the ball with most of his misses hard pulls?

  9. Great video, Chris! Been doing this on every range session the past months and it have really helped hit more straight shots! Can you do a video on how to move your legs (or not move)? I struggle with a straight trail leg in the backswing which causes me to "sit down" on my left hip/thigh making it impossible to rotate and lead to an early extension… Just can't shake it off!

  10. That 1, 2, 3 step is my pre-shot routine but I also take it to the top. That's the only way to remind what it should feel like at the top. Of course, the next problem is when to release the wrist hinge on the downswing.

  11. So I’ve started actually playing like this and it’s helped tremendously. Unrelated to the topic of this video but related to this type of swing. Can you explain what is supposed to happen after impact? I feel like when I’m swinging I get stuck after impact but not because of the lead elbows doing the chicken wing but rather because I don’t know how or when to get my tail forearm to cross (for lack of a better term) my lead arm. I’m getting good contact/power/distance but I feel like my release is restricting me.

  12. Interesting you posted this. I discovered yesterday that in an attempt to keep my hands going back on plane, I was pulling my hands in slightly so the left hand didn’t get further away from my body on the takeaway. I decided that was impeding the smoothness and rhythm. I let it go where it happened to go and started striping every club in the bag. Funny how interpretations of concepts can interrupt a natural movement.

  13. I love this video. I get so lost in the backswing and this is a good method to engrain the feeling and technique. My current problem however,is that i lose my height when doing it

  14. Amazing video, you work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10K into trading from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires
