It’s my understanding that lie angles of clubs like pw and sw makes the most impact. If you’re off 2* upright or flat for you pw you’re going to miss a lot more to the left or right of your intended target.

This is totally the reason why i pull a lot left but havent got the means to fix it. so aim slightly more right and then when i dont pull left im fooked.

Lie boards lie?!!
I’m a shorter guy but my irons are all 1° upright than “standard” for players irons (blades and cbs)
Got fit for Cobra irons in 1° up.
(Prior clubs were also 1 up but weren’t bent they were just players distance so stock was 1.5 up from “standard”)
They finally got here and I couldn’t start a ball on line at all. Went and got them checked and they were “standard”

Bro you’re way too smart of a guy to believe in lie boards. Turf interaction happens 1-4ish inches past the ball. That dynamic lie angle can be vastly different than your dynamic lie angle exactly at impact. Just use the ball flight. If it’s a pull draw, flatten it a few degrees. If that doesn’t change it, go flatter. If you can’t get a guy to stop the left miss with lie angle, then focus on other components of the club… Shaft flex, length and weight. Group size and weight. Weight in the toe of the club… Lie boards are crap.
Lie boards in 2024…….certainly a choice.

Trottie, I got 2021 p790’s 1 degree flat, I still feel like I am hitting them more right then normal… I am a left handed players. I’m also hitting my 7,8,9 and pw off the toe. Would that be more length or lie angle to upright?
Fit a club to a swing that works, don’t use an upright fitting to fix a swing flaw
Good work Trott..IMO, I think you may have finally hit the nail on the head @ 8:18. You're now moving the club out in front of you in the downswing.
Makes you wonder why so many people try to shallow a short iron when they are attempting to get 'zero' path with -4 AoA.

How come some use a sharpie and draw a vertical line on the ball and whatever the print is left on the club face after impact will show if you’re flat, upright or standard? Which one is better the lie board or the sharpie on the ball?
Tour truck flash back….do most players adjust each lie angle different thru the entire iron set? I went 2 degrees flat thru my entire set of P770-P790.

Could you also measure or verify your appropriate lie angles with Trackman data?
