Golf Rules – Interference from two abnormal course conditions

Where a player has interference from two abnormal course conditions (in this case, in the general area), they are permitted to choose which condition they want to take relief from. After that they must drop within one club-length of the Nearest Point of Relief (NPR), no nearer the hole.
If the player had chosen to take relief from the temporary water, their NPR would have been on the path to the left of the water; if they had decided to take relief from the path first, it most likely would have been to the left of the path on the mud/grass.
