Unless you are 5 or better i don't think there's any need to spend over £500 on a set of irons. Get custom fit get the right shafts and then buy second hand. My entire bag is about £500 which is great value with fairly modern drivers, putter and wedges.
Picked up a set of Honma Tr21x irons for £275 to take to Spain and leave at my brothers place. Save hiring or shipping my own across. Sadly I loved them so decided to keep them. Iv since picked an almost new, 1 year old set of sub 70 699 V2's for just £225. Now they are def my holiday clubs. Point is there are some great deals on some awesome clubs out there. You just have to be patient, a little cheeky with your offers and you can get some brilliant deals.

JR Golf has been good from the start. Of late it's been getting better. Maybe that's because of my prejudices – old Yorkshireman on a tight budget living in the Sunshine of SW France. Must make a visit to Golf Clubs for Cash a priority visit if I ever get back to the UK.
Got a set of copies from Ali express 11 irons 4 to wedge and 4 more wedges £227 graphite shafts and midsize grips I’m amazed how good they are , my hcap is going west as is my age but for sheer enjoyment I can’t fault them . Thanks Mr Martin 👍
I purchased a set, 4-P of United SBB1 1” longer 3° with Shimada shafts for my son for $250. They were perfect for him. He used the crap out of his Mizunos.
He’s a good golfer. The shafts are beautiful.
I’m looking for a set Wilson 100 Anniversary FG button backs. Those are 2014 irons
Videos like this is realy healthy… and I do mean that. The hunt for new clubs is very overrated and very expensive. I have an old "snake eye" set (combo) from early 2000 and I almost play them as good as I play my P790 from 2021… Makes one wonder…
A few videos ago James was saying $2000 was good value because the clubs came in black. I like the reviews, and they are fun, but not every video can be about the best clubs of 2024 or indeed the cheapest.
Well, this just goes to show that the marketing hype (blah, blah, blah) over "game improvement clubs (i.e. you can lower your scores if you just buy these new clubs) does not always apply. A good used set that reasonably fits the player will do just fine. So, thanks for promoting the idea that new is not always better, and that there is (a lot of) $$$ to be saved in the process!
BTW – as an aside – your Hole in One video is now about 2 years old. Got nothing newer to update with? Surely, something (else) good has happened since then…..

I got brand new Tommy Armor at Dicks sporting goods for$250
I chose them because in the hitting room they stood up to the Callaway Ai smoke
