Golf launch monitor garage recommendation. Budget preferred

17.5~ foot wide garage
8~ ft wide to the mat

Hey everyone, I am trying to have a super budget sim in my garage. Basically something to work on my swing. I tried the garmin r10 approach but with the concrete, it would read every iron shot from gw to 7i 60 – 100 yards.

I have been seeing recommendations for the MLM2 Pro. Anyone else have any advice for budget monitors?

The net I have needs to be pulled out about a foot and half if I use real balls but the net can be pushed back if I’m using my sci core practice balls.

  1. There’s a new launch monitor called square golf launch monitor and it’s a camera based model for like $700. I don’t think anyone has used it yet because it’s so new

I have concrete walls and hanging a screen and curtains down the side made a huge improvement with the R10. Mostly the impact screen since those waves echo right back to the Garmin. Just a tarp behind your net would help a lot.

Your best options are going to be an original Skytrack, a GC2 if you can find one for a good deal (check on the gspro discord), or a eye mini lite if you can push the budget a little

Square golf launch monitor! Don’t go with OG skytrak, you will regret it.

You’ll need something photometric for it to work well. OG Skytrak or used GC2 are your best bet for “cheap,” but depending on what you’re hoping to get out of it, you may want to consider raising your budget just a touch and splurging for a Uneekor Eye Mini Lite. For indoor setups where you don’t need portability, it’s by far the most bang for your buck IMO but I get how $2.75k is a bit of a step up.

Others keep bringing up this new “Square” LM. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong but I’d be wary of anything so new that doesn’t integrate with the more popular softwares out there. They seem to have a strange pricing model; it’s “per-hole” pricing, so if you want to use it a lot you might find that it’s not actually as good of a deal as it appears. But more importantly, I feel that pricing model is incompatible with software like GSPro or TGC 2019, which is why I’d be suspicious of anyone who says that they’ll “probably” add integrations.
