WOW! – I’ll pass on the rainwear, but some of the shoes of yesteryear look GREAT!

This is the second part of a look at the changing face of golf fashion as seen through contemporary magazine adverts from the 1940s through to 1980.
This time rainwear, waterproofs and shoes come under the microscope. Can you remember kilties?

  1. Great video! My first shoes were also single moulded rubber shoes – memory says Dunlop but may have been Stylo. Not very comfortable and their water proof qualities were completely undermined by poor fit around the ankle so any walk through long grass (my natural habitat) left your feet swimming! Best shoes I ever had were all leather Dexters. Weighed about 15lbs each when wet but kept you "anchored" through your swing and supremely comfortable. First waterproof suit was a rubberised material – boil in the bag properties so you still ended up soaked in sweat! Changed days!

  2. Very enjoyable video again thank you. Like many probably my introduction to golf footwear would be Stylo all rubber shoes, can't remember owning any waterproof clothing as a youngster, i just got soaked through,, Mum being not to pleased returning home like a drowned rat on numerous occasions. 🦅⚪✴️
