  1. using handicaps to define which irons you use is a misnomer. I have played with plenty of mid handicappers who could easily play 'low handicap irons' due to their ball striking. It is course management and short game which let them down

  2. Might help to point out you can get the takomos in head only so you can put your fitted shafts in them.I know lack of fitting for takomos is a big talking point but the fact you can order just the heads at an even cheaper price is huge.

  3. Thought I would mention that there are still some very good used M'back irons available that fit this category. Titleist and Bridgestone among others made great designs, there are still some out there in good condition. The bigger difference now is in the shafts available, many are lighter weight by 30-40 grams (!) and this helps promote more ball speed.

  4. Great video on this range of clubs. I still say the T.M. cb is an updated rac. I like the srixon, they are pretty sweet. Love the sole on it. Never tried the tocomos. But all of these are a little to hard for me to use. I'm getting older and need a little more help and distance, not there yet for high handicap irons but definitely into distance irons (p770/p790 type). I might be able to put one of these in the lower end of the bag, but it's not worth it in my eyes for myself.

  5. Great video. Currently looking at P7CB, ZX7, and T150. Would you say the T150 would be equivalent to these? Would love to see numbers and your comments. Thanks.

  6. Aesthetics: "angular" look probably very acceptable to many. The DeLorean, the Countache, Cybertruck, et al have traditionally created polarized lovers and haters, yes?

  7. Would really like it if you would take a look at the Sub70 clubs, especially the 659 series irons which are offered as a CB, pure MB blade, and and the "TC" (tour cavity) which is a blend of the CB and MB designs. Sub70 pricing is at or below Takomo, offer a large number of stock shaft options, and will build in-house to any/all custom spec you can give them.

  8. Hey Pete, love the channel! Got a question though. Are you still using the larger, chunkier grips and do you recommend them? I’ve noticed here recently that my wrist and forearm really hurt when I’m playing here recently and I remember you saying that you switched to those for the same reason and they helped.

  9. Gamed the ping s55 all season even though i had a new set of i230s with pured projectx lz 120 shafts ….little stong of a shaft for me …have always gamed the tt s 300 stiff for 20 plus years ….but got a very good deal on the i230s ….now that most of the 4 and 2 man scrambles and tournaments are over for the season going to take the i230s out Saturday for the 3rd time since i have owned them ….they were black dot and my s55s are blue ….but a trip to the pga superstore 2 weeks ago and now they are 1degree up like my blue dot s55s …….do you feel i will have a hard time witb the change ….i play off 8 …..

  10. Played golf on a course for the first time in my life last Saturday, I can already tell it’s a game of “WHERE THE HELL DID MY BALL LAND” followed by course employees telling you “you’re taking too long on this hole!” Good time tho

  11. Wish they would just take the Takomo, bevel the sole, add integral tungsten weighting and forge it to feel like a Miura.
I would creme my shorts over that iron…

  12. Takomo are good I had the 101t but don’t be fooled by the price. Once shipped to the uk add on £120 to the price in import duties. 😳😳

  13. Only 30% of golfers who bother to have a handicap have one under 10. However, most golfers I play with don't bother to even carry one. So the number of golfers who are regularly breaking 80 is way way under 30%.

  14. Peter complaining about lumps and bumps on a golf club but played those Japanese sculpted irons which had bumps all over!

  15. Misleading title. What irons you can play is dependent on your balls striking ability not your handicap.
