Jimbo’s joined by James Horncastle, Pol Ballús, Julien Laurens and Seb Stafford Bloor to round up the welcome return to domestic action across the continent.

Barcelona extended their perfect start in La Liga under Hansi Flick with a 4-1 victory at Girona, while Real Madrid and Atleti both won to keep up the pressure – including first goals for Conor Gallagher and Julián Alvarez.

Harry Kane’s been doing Harry Kane things – scoring his fifth Bayern hat-trick as they hammered Holstein Keil 6-1 to make it three wins from three under Vincent Kompany in the Bundesliga. Dortmund kept up the early pressure with their own 4-2 triumph over Heidenheim.

AC Milan finally showed up to the party with their first three points under Paulo Fonseca in Serie A – but it’s Napoli who top the table after their 4-0 win at Cagliari. That Hellas Verona defeat feels like a long time ago now…

Meanwhile in Ligue 1, PSG came from behind in their 3-1 victory against Brest to maintain their perfect start – and Marseille continue to impress under Roberto De Zerbi.

Plus – it’s matchday one in the new look Champions League! We take a look at some of the standout fixtures over the next few days – including Milan v Liverpool and Man City v Inter.

  1. You had me at Conte’s Napoli – PS, James, as someone who also struggles with chronic back pain (brain tumour related pain) – try DDP Yoga.

Went round the houses with every sort of paid treatment, and the best thing, by far, was doing DDPY Full Body Workout on YouTube.

Pain almost completely gone after a few months.

    Just saying!

  2. This is one of the best podcasts available. The different cultures coming together through Football. Thats what its all about

  3. My favourite football pod. I will say, though, I wish there were more Dutch and Portuguese domestic game coverage. I realise the line has to be drawn somewhere, but I’d happily sacrifice a bit of Ligue 1 (sorry, Jules) for more of the others which I think are competitively on par (bar PSG).

  4. Will you guys be back with the goals show on tnt sports again as you guys have the best football watching experience

  5. Jules decided to dye his hair a lighter color and don’t say it was just the sun 😅. He’s my man anyways.

  6. The Gary Neville of Italian punditry, you say?

So he doesn't actually do punditry, rather, he just comes out with outlandish bullshit and spews agenda based narratives for hits and views?

  7. This new champions league format is so much better, there will literally be big games every ucl day 🥳

  8. If Horncastle is having to miss two games because of a back problem, maybe he could send his twin brother instead 😄 a ready made replacement you could say.

  9. The Goals Show is nothing without you and the chaps in the usual configuration, just another utterly inane yawnfest. Wonder which confederacy of geniuses (/s) dreamt that act of vandalism up.

  10. To answer Jimbo's question, in Spain sunburnt Brits are called cangrejos, literally crabs 🦀
