I played Royal County Down the day after the Irish Open

Felt like an out of body experience. Course was in immaculate condition. Our four-ball took a go at Rory's putts on 17 and came up worse off every time.

That par 3 is one of my favorite in the world. Hit a hybrid to 17′ – didn’t make the birdie, but loved the hole.

Stunning! Literally perfect weather with just a few clouds peaking behind the hills

Looks amazing! Putting on pro caliber greens is not as easy as they make it look.

Why didn’t they just play when you did? Silly tour, this is clearly better weather /s

    Seriously tho, looks amazing!

When I was a wee’un we went to the town in the background on school holidays. The teacher told us it was the best course in the world and we all laughed (NI ws very different back then). Sure do feel silly now.

Rarely in life do things live up to expectations, but that course is a wonder of the world
My caddie was telling me the R and A want an open there but RCD has no interest in hosting it.

Great photo. They keep the course in amazing condition all year round. They could host at a drop of the hat. What was your favourite hole and why was it the 8th?
