Well, in fairness, in the past, every time the media started noticing the Vikings and started to think they might be legit, the Vikes would do something like that cowpatties game a couple years ago – lay an egg on national TV. I think the media – like a lot of Vkings fans – are a little gun-shy to say too much too soon! I have no problem with that. As a fan of well over 50 years, I'm gun shy too! The Vikes just need to keep proving it on the field and they'll get all the respect they need.
But there seems to be something different about this year's team. It seems like something special might be brewing. I don't know if it's the type of player they're drafting, or if it's the Flores effect on the D, or KOC is just getting better, or what, but there's a confidence exuding from them that seems to have been missing for some time. I'm feeling hopeful and a teensie bit excited for the possibilities. When I first saw the schedule, I thought maybe 6-7 wins. Now I look and don't see anyone on there who can't be beaten. But it's got to be taken one game at a time – just stay healthy and keep improving throughout the season, and it should be a fun season!

These "pro" analysts in many cases do zero research into these teams and go by the spread. IF the Vikings can stay healthy with the current starters, history has proven its tough, and once we get everyone back at full strength they could become dominant! Add in the depth and cap space for possible trades/acquisitions I believe the ceiling is high for this team. Darnold has been solid, but is still a question mark if we do end up down in a game. Can he make that spectacular play on a crucial drive. The Purple Curse is real…until it isn't.

Not a Vikings fan but if they get their receivers healthy and their TE T.J. Hockenson they could be really good in the 2nd half of the season.
