To hit driver straight and long I get my students to avoid this popular advice and instead do this. So many golfers with a perfectly good golf swing can’t hit driver straight and never hit driver long because they take away the one thing that adds speed and accuracy to their driver swing.
In this golf lesson Danny Maude shows you how to hit driver straight every time by first showing you how to use you hands.
Without this you could have the perfect golf swing but still hit driver poor.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it’s a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing

I recognise that driving range , was that Canterbury ? 😅
I would be happy to manage the 240 yards shot with narrow feet and almost no body motion; however, to achieve this a club head speed of some 90 to 95 mph is required which is completely out of my range. In case I try to swing smoothly, I get some 60 to 70 mph max. Danny, open the secret how to increase the club head speed to the requested amount!
Great video Danny. Love the way you break it down, build the swing elements for greater distance and then give a process to help rebuild by returning to the base level. Thank-you.
Could you please do a similar video with irons please. Great video.
Best video I’ve seen from you. Really well explained. Thanks 👍
Hi, great video ! Though I don't really understand 'elbow sitting down' ..
DM is the best teacher so far 👍
at what point in the through swing does the elbow start to fold? I think Pros seem to extend both arms past impact to a certain point
Great tips Danny. Love how you explain the barrow stance and then increase it as you go. A lot of golfers forget that the clubs are designed to gain distance and not all require to be smashed. All good if you can though. Have a great week
Dan you simply are the best tutor on YouTube. You take the time to break it down for the average golfer. I've deleted all other subscriptions and I'm only following you. Keep up the great work buddy
Danny would you please add in a bit of info to at what stage of the downswing should be rotating the arms with this technique?
Danny, Great lesson on calming the driver swing and building up. Can you provide an explanation of why a golfer must have the right elbow (for right handed golfer) pointing out away from the body and close to the left arm, and maintain that elbow vertical along the side of the body in the backswing…
Spot on Danny! Whenever I get frustrated with things I always think…… where would DM tell you to go. A big one is put those feet together and ensure you are balanced and using your body, arms and hands! The feet together never lie. I love the arms and hands reminder as well, we fall in the trap of thinking control comes with more stiffness as you mention. Thank you! Love it!
Brilliant video. You provide the best content in a short amount of time but very concise and clear info for the average golfer. With your instruction and using the grip trainer and the orange whip turn trainer, I am hitting the ball much longer. I am now working on to be more consistent each time I swing the club. Thank you for everything that you provide. You are one of the best instructors out there on YouTube.
Great videos. I find them very instructive. One question. Is it the same elbow bend, back and forward swing, for irons?
I can hit other clubs reasonably straight and I like the 3 iron in particular, but still can't get the driver straight with any consistency. Help!
I just started playing this year, your videos have been so much help, thank you so much
So good and well explained, irons? Sorry. Just the same for irons except diem rather than up of course. 😂
Great instruction as always! Cant wait to get on the range and give it a go. 🏌🏻♂️
Danny, I have two things in on my buckets list. Come from the US and get a face to face session with you. Second thing, meet your father. Life would be complete.
The club feels naturally to me when using a strong grip. Long time baseball player.
Hi Danny Great lesson as always. You have a habit of posting videos on particular aspects of my game just when I need them! Which grip trainer product would you recommend as there seem to be a few on the market? Thanks
I used to watch numerous instructors, no longer you are by far the best Danny in all aspects of of golf many thanks for all 😊😊😊
Fabulous as usual ! I am a senior golfer with huge problems with the driver! I will be trying this tomorrow ! I will let you know what happens ! 😮
Hi Danny, do have any links for the grip training aid for LEFT handed golfers? Thank you
Thanks!
Danny, I had the best 9 holes of golf yesterday….. my playing partners called me a burglar…. I'm playing off 29 and I hit a 41 (par 34). I hit all my drives on the fairway and probably an extra 20 metres on drive. Bloody brilliant.
I've just played my 8th golf game today after an 18 gap due to health issues, and won this mornings medal qualifying competition. Got to give you the credit as I was topping the ball off every tee until I started watching your videos. Thanks Dan
Lol do what YOU feel is comfortable that's it, all this other bull crap is exactly that bull crap
Great stuff. My problem is that when I try your tip on the right arm folding my upper right arm just gets stuck to my side so resulting in a really short flat backswing. I must admit hysterically in general my backswing is short unless I have what feels like a flying right elbow. Thoughts most welcome 😊
You had a video like this some time ago and it worked for me. Things started to change and I wanted to go back to it, but couldn’t find it. This one is saved! I’m 76 years old and right away, at step 2 I was hitting it straight for 225 yards.
Feet together, arms only, 250. Feet apart, more body, 230?
😮
What driver are you using there Danny ?
For the grip I have used the method in Ben Hogan's book he looks at the club head looking to see the grooves on the club point straight up.
Thanks DM
Is it the same for Irons?
up to the range see how we go
Danny, how much of this is transferable to irons , presumably with a different ball position ?
Would you use the same type of drill with hitting low to mid irons? Difference being not worrying about so much rotation like you would on a driver? Or is this purely a driver drill?
Fancy fitting a grip trainer to a brand new Callaway 😅
Fair play. Great lesson Danny.
Danny is hands down the best golf educator
